UFC Picks
The first question to answer in this one is whether or not Andrade can be ready to fight with little preparation time. We know she is a former strawweight champion but I don’t think there is any question she has been somewhat overrated. She has seven losses in the UFC and she is only 4-2 in her last six fights but we know that Andrade has finishing power and if she is well prepared, she can be a tough fighter to deal with.
Blanchfield is the big prospect who is unbeaten in the UFC. The question we have to answer with Blanchfield is whether she can handle a fighter like Andrade. This is definitely a step up in level for Blanchfield, but she sure hasn’t done anything wrong in her UFC career.
Andrade is listed as the favorite in this fight and I am definitely tempted to take Blanchfield at the plus price. I am one of those people who think Andrade has not lived up to her potential through the years. That being said, we simply don’t know yet if Blanchfield is a top-level fighter.
One thing to keep in mind is that this fight is not the normal three-round fight that these two fighters are used to. This is a main event fight and it is schedule for five rounds. Andrade has shown the ability to finish fights in the past and Blanchfield definitely has finishing skills, particularly on the mat. I think the best choice it to take the rounds under the total. I prefer to get the rounds at 4.5 or perhaps 3.5 and go under that total. I am not quite as excited about playing the 2.5 rounds at even money. Perhaps playing a prop for Andrade or Blanchfield to win by KO or submission might offer more value.
