Ribas said this to bloodyelbow.com about her upcoming fight against Chookagian, “It was a very nice surprise. I thought I was going to go seven months without a fight, but I ended up getting a huge opportunity like this one. I’m even more focused on training and on my diet. I want to make the best out of this opportunity. She’s the number two ranked flyweight and that’s huge. I could really cut in line if I do a good job in this fight. I still think that I need one more fight even if I win here.”

UFC Picks
We should be in store for an excellent matchup between Chookagian and Ribas on Saturday night. Both are title contenders and this fight looks really even. Chookagian has beaten some really good competition including Cynthia Calvillo, Viviane Araujo and Jennifer Maia. Ribas has been rolling along and she has good wins against Mackenzie Dern, Randa Markos, Paige Vanzant and Virna Jandiroba. Chookagian does everything well and has very few weaknesses. She has great length and it is not surprising she relies on her jab and leg kicks. Normally Chookagian just outlasts her opponents. Ribas likes to throw punches and find a way to finish, but that seems like a tough path to victory against Chookagian.
The rounds are listed at 2.5 and the price on the over is a bit hefty at more than 2-1. I don’t like laying big prices, but it is hard to see this fight going the distance. There may be a little bit of value on Ribas at the plus price, but I think the rounds going over is the better bet. If Ribas is to get the win it would likely be with a finish, so if you like Ribas you may want to bet her to win on a finish prop.
