There is no question that Xiaonan has a lot of experience and she is known for her striking with eight wins by knockout or technical knockout. Ricci is ranked at No. 10 in the division and she has been impressive with a record of 6-2 in the UFC. She is coming off a win over Angela Hill at UFC on ESPN 62. Ricci would much prefer to take this fight to the ground, as she doesn’t want to turn this into a striking battle against Xiaonan.

This fight is likely going to be one of those striking vs. grappler battles. Normally I would like Xiaonan in this fight since she will be fighting in front of a vocal crowd in support of her in China, but the one weakness that Xiaonan has had in her career has been against good grapplers. The question in this fight is whether or not Ricci qualifies as good on the mat.

One thing for sure in this fight is that I am not laying 2-1 on Xiaonan considering her weakness on the mat. She may very well still get this win, but I don’t think it will be easy. I think the rounds are best choice in this fight. Betting UFC rounds options has been a good strategy for me in recent UFC fights and I think that is the best option here as well. I think Xiaonan will try and avoid getting forced to the mat and I think Ricci will not want to get into a striking battle so there is a good chance this one goes the distance. I will go over the rounds total as my best bet in this fight.
