The last time we saw A.C. Milan in action, they gave us one of the most thrilling performances of the ICC. They squared off with Manchester United in Pasadena last weekend, and they were able to pick up a result in full time before things moved to penalties. There, chaos unfolded. Milan and Manchester United took 13 rounds of penalties before a winner was determined, with Milan being on the losing side of a 9-8 duel. It was the longest shootout in ICC history.
This might be one of the last times we see Gennaro Gattuso on the sidelines managing Milan. Gattuso took over for Vincenzo Montella midway through last season, but there has been speculation that the club is in hot pursuit of Antonio Conte even though Gattuso just signed a three-year deal with the club in April. Conte is something of a hot commodity after being dismissed by Chelsea a few weeks ago, and he has already turned down the Italian national team job.
Tottenham has played pretty well at this competition, even though many of their superstars are not taking part. They opened their three-game stretch in America with a dominant 4-1 win over Roma that was over at halftime. Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura each netted a brace in the game, with Moura really grabbing the bull by the horns.
In their second match, Spurs squared off against Barcelona and were on the back foot much of the way. Barcelona took a 2-0 lead in the 29th minute, and they looked set to grab a victory midway through the second half. Then, Son Heung-min and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou scored two minutes apart to bring Tottenham level. Unfortunately, they were not able to pull out the win in penalties though.

Leonardo Bonucci is seen as one of the top defenders in Serie A, and he is the captain of Milan. Bonucci has been known for his stout defense over the years, and he is one of the most tenured defenders on the Italian national team. He has received numerous plaudits for his defense, but he received the best praise two years ago when he was named Serie A Player of the Year. However, he may not be long for Milan as he has been heavily rumored to return to Juventus. Losing him would deal a serious blow to Milan.
Tottenham Hotspur Player to Watch
Son Heung-min had a nice World Cup, and he is the one to keep an eye on here for Spurs. Tottenham has had a number of midfielders go down in recent weeks, with Victor Wanyama, Erik Lamela, Tashan Oakley-Boothe, and Moussa Sissoko suffering injuries.
