For the first time ever, Manchester City and Liverpool will meet in European competition. The two sides are extremely familiar with each other and are the only teams from the same league that were drawn together for the Champions League Quarterfinals. That will guarantee at least one English side through to the Semifinals, but it will also mean that one side will not be advancing further. Both sides are in excellent form heading into this one, and this should be an exciting clash.

Odds Analysis
This is the closest of the Champions League Quarterfinals according to the oddsmakers. Manchester City is a little bit of a favorite on the road in Anfield and are considered a good bet to advance with how they have dominated the Premier League.
However, both sides are red hot at the moment and they are the two of the hottest teams in the Premier League. Manchester City has been red hot all year, while Liverpool has slowly been heating up over the course of the season.
Previous Meetings
These two teams have played two very interesting games this season. The first time they met, it was all Manchester City. Sergio Aguero made the score 1-0 in the 24th minute and the floodgates opened after Sadio Mane picked up a red card later in the half. The Citizens poured it on with four more goals over the last 45 minutes of action, winning 5-0 and handing the Reds their worst defeat of the season.
Liverpool got revenge when these sides met in Anfield, handing Manchester City its lone Premier League loss this season. The Reds scored three times in a 10-minute span in the middle of the second half with all members of their troika getting in on the action. Roberto Firmino, Mane, and Mohamed Salah put Liverpool in a commanding 4-1 lead. Manchester City responded with aplomb, notching two goals to draw close at the death, but couldn’t get the tying goal and fell 4-3.
Injuries to Watch
Manchester City is relatively healthy for it being late in the season in a campaign where it has played a lot of matches. The Citizens will likely have both Fabian Delph and Sergio Aguero back for this one after each player missed the last few weeks of action. Additionally, the club may get a huge boost with the possible return of left back Benjamin Mendy. Mendy has been out for over six months, since tearing a knee ligament in the big win over Liverpool. Having him back would be big.
Things are looking good for the Reds on this front too. Joe Gomez is out indefinitely, but the other three players on this list may be able to return for this match. Emre Can and Nathaniel Clyne would really help shore up the back, so having them in the starting eleven would be huge. Getting Dejan Lovren back from an ankle injury would be a big pickup as well.

It feels like the draw might be the right side in this one. These clubs looked very even in Anfield a couple months ago and winning on the road is tough at this point in the Champions League. Both sides would be relatively content with a draw and neither one would push too much for a winner if it were to be tied late.
The over has to be considered an option with how both earlier games have gone too. Consider parlaying the over with a draw in hopes of a nice payday.
Champions League Odds: Liverpool 2, Manchester City 2
