For the first time since Robert Green’s infamous ‘Hand of Clod’ blunder, the United States and England will face off in international soccer. The stakes are much less significant this time, as that game came eight years ago at the 2010 World Cup, and this is an international friendly that will not have the same tension and aura about it. However, there were still be bragging rights to play for, and an England loss would be the talk of the tabloids.
Don't miss this intriguing international friendly from Wembley Stadium in London at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, November 15, 2018. Catch every moment of the match live on ESPN2.

Odds Analysis
The Three Lions are still riding a wave of euphoria after this summer’s success in Russia. Manager Gareth Southgate steered England all the way towards the semifinals of the World Cup, where they fell to a very good Croatia team in extra time. They have carried their form over from the summer, and they have put up some pretty good results in their international matches over the last two months. England were able to beat Switzerland 1-0 in September, and they defeated Span and drew with Croatia in October.
This summer was a period of soul searching for the US Men’s National Team. The Stars and Stripes failed to make it to the World Cup for the first time since 1986 after a stunning loss to Trinidad and Tobago on the final day of CONCACAF play, and that led manager Bruce Arena to resign. Incredibly enough, the Stars and Stripes still don’t have a permanent coach. Dave Sarachan took over on an interim basis over a year ago, and he is still coaching the team with the interim tag.
Since the conclusion of the World Cup, the US have played four friendlies and all came in the United States. They lost to Brazil 2-0 and Colombia 4-2 over the last two months, but they showed heart in a draw with Peru and picked up an encouraging win over Mexico in Nashville.
England Player to Watch
One of the greatest players in English football history will return to the national team for this match. Southgate and England are taking advantage of the expanded 28-man roster to add Wayne Rooney to their available lineup. Rooney stepped away from international football last year, and he moved from the Premier League to the MLS earlier this year. What was supposed to be a gentle ride into retirement proved to be anything but though, as the fiery Rooney turned DC United from a minnow into a contender. He has shown he still has something in the tank and both teams will be happy to see him return to the international stage.
USA Player to Watch
We haven’t seen Christian Pulisic in the red, white, and blue since May, and the young superstar is who we will be watching. Pulisic has sat out of the last few rounds of friendlies due to rest and minor injuries, as Borussia Dortmund do not want to run the risk of a serious injury to one of their young guns. He is being released for these next two friendlies though, and Americans will love to see the future of the UMNT back in action.
Prop Bet of the Game – Over 3 goals +119
This should be a match where both teams look to press the pace. There is nothing for either team to lose as this is not a Nation’s League match, and both sides will want to see their young guns in action. Look for fresh legs to be a real difference maker with the expanded rosters and unlimited substitutions leading to some goals.
