Los Angeles FC are one of the biggest favorites per the MLS betting odds in the opening week of the 2020 season. LAFC put together the best regular season in the history of the league in 2019, winning the Supporters’ Shield and registering more points than any other team has in 24 years. That dominance is why this club has the shortest odds to win the 2020 MLS Cup, and they will look to start their march to the final on Sunday when they host expansion franchise Inter Miami CF.

Odds Analysis
Soccer is back in south Florida after a nearly two-decade absence. The Miami Fusion lasted just four seasons before folding, but Inter Miami CF is here to stay for the long-term. There is plenty of buzz about this team as they look to compete immediately, and David Beckham has spared no expense to make this team competitive in its first season.
The Herons signed a hefty sponsorship deal with Qatar two weeks ago, allowing the club to splash some real cash in the transfer market. Inter’s biggest signing was Monterrey midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro. Pizarro has been one of the top players in Liga MX for some time, and this club paid over $12 million to bring him to Miami. They added Argentinian youngsters Matias Pellegrini and Julian Carranza as well to bolster the squad, making it clear that the mandate is to make the postseason in Year One.
Los Angeles FC might be even more terrifying with the ball at their feet this season. Carloa Vela, Diego Rossi, and Adama Diomande all return alongside Latif Blessing and Mark-Anthony Kaye, and Bradley Wright-and Jose Cifuentes were added to make this offense even more dynamic.
We could see plenty of high-scoring games with LAFC this season, as Walker Zimmerman was dealt to Nashville for GAM two weeks ago. That would be just fine for Bob Bradley, considering the plethora of talent on this team.
Key Absences
Inter Miami has no one listed on its injury report, but LAFC reportedly have four players that could miss this match. Midfielder Javier Perez is dealing with a knee issue, and Latif Blessing is sitting out with a lower leg injury. Danilo Silva is dealing with a bad back, but Alejandro Guido should be healed from his illness by this time.
Player to Watch
Vela was the superstar on the best team in the MLS last year, so this section is about him. He set a single season record with 34 goals in a season, and he was omnipresent on the pitch. He was constantly making plays happen, and his 15 assists attest to that fact. Vela didn’t slow down during the season or shy away from the moment, making him one of the premier players throughout 2019.
Free Soccer Betting Pick
Welcome to the MLS, Inter Miami! The Herons will play their most difficult opponent of the season in Week 1 when they take on LAFC. That’s not good news for fans of Inter Miami, as while they will be thrilled to see their team in action, it’s unlikely that they pick up a result against the top team in MLS. Look for Vela and Rossi to both register at least one tally in an LAFC victory.
Major League Soccer Odds: Los Angeles FC 3, Inter Miami CF 1
