Saturday MLS Odds Report

There could be a lot of history made this season. The New England Revolution, FC Cincinnati, and Colorado Rapids have all been abysmal. These three teams could set ignominious records because of their poor play, while two others could set the kind of records teams want to set. Both Los Angeles FC and Houston Dynamo have played exceptionally well this season and will look to keep their strong starts alive despite facing tough opponents this week.

FC Cincinnati +128
Montreal Impact +205
Draw +241
Over/Under 2.5

FC Cincinnati have completely collapsed. The expansion franchise recently fired its head coach, and they have now lost five straight matches. During that stretch, Cincinnati have been unable to score a goal, being blanked in all five losses. Per Matthew Doyle, they have scored just one goal in the last 655 minutes of action, so it’s hard not to like the Impact in this spot.

FC Dallas +100
New York Red Bulls +260
Draw +253
Over/Under 2.5

The hosts will not have two of their top midfielders available for this match as Michael Barrios will be suspended because of yellow card accumulation and Paxton Pomykal will miss another game due a strained hamstring. Taking NYRB in this situation is a good bet after they displayed a lot of energy in a win over the Galaxy last weekend.

Toronto FC -101
Philadelphia Union +243
Draw +276
Over/Under 3

Goals could come in bunches here as these are the two highest scoring teams in the Eastern Conference by a considerable margin. Toronto has done well to keep up its torrid scoring pace with Jozy Altidore sidelined, and Altidore’s potential return this weekend would make their attack even more formidable.

Los Angeles Galaxy +109
New York City FC +225
Draw +266
Over/Under 3

I’ll break this one down more later today, but the Galaxy are looking to stop a losing skid and return to form at home. They have lost two road games in the last week, but they have fared much better in LA. New York City FC have played much better in recent weeks too with Heber coming through.

Columbus Crew +148
Los Angeles FC +167
Draw +255
Over/Under 2.5 and 3

The Crew stopped a five match losing streak with a win over the Galaxy on Wednesday night, and Columbus shook things up by dealing Justin Meram to Atlanta United and acquiring David Accam from the Philadelphia Union before the deadline. They will be hard-pressed to stop a rampaging LAFC squad that have been dominant despite not having two of their best players this year.

New England Revolution -103
San Jose Earthquakes +245
Draw +282
Over/Under 3

New England’s back line could be historically bad. The Revolution are allowing 3.75 goals per game, and opponents have netted 15 goals in their last three games against New England. This team already has a -19 goal differential, so it’s hard to have much faith in them anywhere. Fade them until they show some improvement in defense.

Colorado Rapids +113
Real Salt Lake +210
Draw +272
Over/Under 3

MLS’ lone winless team is the Colorado Rapids. Colorado is 0-8-2 on the year, but at least the team has been able to create some offense with Kei Kamara notching a brace in a loss last week. He has seven goals in 10 games for the Rapids this season, and he could lead them to their first win over a Real Salt Lake squad that has a little dissension within the ranks.

Seattle Sounders -129
Houston Dynamo +318
Draw +290
Over/Under 3

The Dynamo have been able to counter brilliantly this season, and they are averaging more points per game than any other team with their 6-1-1 record. Houston will be put to the test by a very good Seattle team that has an abundance of options on the attack though.
