It’s easy to see why the No. 1 ranked women’s tennis player in the world is the prohibitive betting favorite to win the 2024 French Open. Iga Swiatek is the two-time defending champion with three French Open titles in the past four years. She came in with negative odds to become the first three-peat winner since Justin Henin in the mid-2000s and the third overall. That’s something the great Chris Evert couldn’t accomplish in her record seven titles.
During her run of success at Roland Garros, Swiatek defeated three different opponents in the championship match. She beat Sofia Kenin in 2020 and Coco Gauff in 2022 in straight sets and outdueled Karolina Muchova in three sets last year. Of those three Gauff is the highest ranked at No. 3 and is also the third favorite on the board. Just last month at the Mutua Madrid Open Swiatek beat Madison Keys in straight sets in the semifinals and Aryana Sabalenka in a third set tie breaker to capture the title. Those two are among the favorites on the French Open odds board.
The 2024 French Open runs from May 26-June 9 at Stade Roland Garros in Paris. It is the second of four Grand Slam events on the yearly tennis calendar and the only major played on clay courts. Visit BookMaker.eu for complete French Open odds and to place your wager.

Even at her price it would be tough not to back Swiatek given her recent dominance on the clay courts. Over the last two years she’s won all three top-tier clay titles, in Germany, Spain and Italy. And at only 22 years old Swiatek has three French Open titles on her resume. Overall this year she has three wins and is 32-4 in her singles matches. However, since winning at Roland Garros last year her results in Grand Slam events haven’t been worthy of a negative odds price. Swiatek was eliminated in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon and the round of 16 at the U.S. Open last year. She failed to make it past the round of 32 earlier this year at the Australian Open.
The door is ajar for someone to sneak through and disrupt Swiatek’s quest for a third straight French Open title. Aryna Sabalenka is a likely candidate as the second favorite. She took Swiatek to a third set tie breaker before falling in the championship match in Madrid. Sabalenka had her best showing at Roland Garros last year falling in the semifinals and she reached the final at the U.S. Open. That carried over to her second straight Grand Slam win at the Australian Open in January.
After recently announcing her retirement Danielle Collins has been on a roll climbing the odds board. Ranked 15th on the WTA Tour, Collins improved to 19-1 since March with a straight sets win over former No. 1 Victoria Azarenka in the semifinals of the Italian Open. Earlier this year Collins beat No. 4 ranked Elena Rybakina to capture the Miami Open and bested three higher ranked opponents, including No. 11 Daria Kasatkina in the final, to win the Charleston Open. Collins took Sabalenka to a third set before falling in the Round of 16 at the Madrid Open a few weeks ago. “Everybody has different ways of ending their professional journey. I want to go out playing my best tennis,” Collins said.
French Open Picks
I’m always looking for value in my betting picks and there are times when it just isn’t there. Sabalenka and Gauff are the likeliest players to upend the two-time defending but they haven’t had much success against the No. 1 player. Emotion could carry Collins to a nice tournament, but what’s happened with here recently is out of the norm from her career. The only thing likely preventing Swiatek from a three-peat is complacency. She is so much better than the field that a letdown could prove to be her undoing. And it’s not like the other players are patsies. Anyone who faces Swiatek will be geeked for the opportunity and I believe Swiatek, with her dominance of clay, gets another French Open title.
