The Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens both won big on Sunday setting up a crucial Week 10 Thursday Night Football matchup between the bitter AFC North rivals. A slow start that saw the Bengals win just one of their first five games leaves them with little margin for error and beating their division foes is almost a necessity if they want to get to the postseason. One of their early season losses was to Baltimore when the Bengals blew a 10-point fourth quarter lead in an eventual 41-38 setback in overtime. We could see plenty of offense in this game after Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson combined to throw eight TD passes in Week 9. The early line at the Crypto Sportsbook has the Ravens favored by 6-points with the total at 49.5.

I came up short on last Thursday’s NFL same game parlay when the Jets beat Houston, 21-13, ending a mini-run of success. New York was a slight 2-point favorite in the game, which was a little odd to me, and I backed the underdog Texans, who were 6-2 and leading the AFC South entering the game. Welp, oddsmakers certainly know what they’re doing and the Jets ended a five-game SU and ATS slide.
Baltimore kept pace with Pittsburgh atop the division rebounding from a difficult Week 8 loss to Cleveland by running away from Denver, 41-10. It was the third time in five games the Ravens scored exactly 41 points and not surprising they’re unbeaten in those games. The defense hasn’t been up to the usual Baltimore standards set on that side of the football, but when LJ and the offense do their part it’s typically a good sign. In their three losses the Ravens were limited to 24 points or less while scoring at least 28 points in each of their six wins.
The catalyst behind the NFL’s leading offense is Jackson, who is again having a MVP type season. Completing 16 of 19 for 280 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions against Denver, Jackson compiled a perfect passer rating. Six times in nine games his rating has been higher than 114. Over the last seven games, in which the Ravens are 6-1 with five payouts, Jackson has 18 scoring passes with only one interception.
Still, the Ravens have been an enigma. They lost two games outright when favored by at least a touchdown and they pushed the line on another. They’ve surrendered at least 23 points in seven of their nine games and Bengals’ QB Joe Burrow had little issue figuring out the unit in the first meeting. Burrow was 30 of 39 for 392 yards and five TDs. And Burrow lit up the Raiders on Sunday in Cincy’s third win in four games. He was 27 of 39 passing for 251 yards with five of those completions ending in a Bengals touchdown.
The teams have cashed the OVER in each of the last three meetings and in six of the last eight encounters overall. The Bengals are coming off their highest scoring game of the year after dropping 41 on the Raiders and they averaged 29 points in the last eight meetings with Baltimore with the team’s splitting those games. And while they are two games behind the Ravens in the standings, Cincinnati isn’t that far off. Four of their five losses have been by six points or less and they are the only sub-.500 team that boasts a positive point differential, which leads me to backing the Bengals and the points. And with Burrow and Jackson playing at a high level I’m also taking the OVER.
