I mixed things up a bit last week and things didn’t go very well in the first leg of my NFL parlay picks. My three underdog selections all lost their game and failed to cover the closing line. We have a bunch of good matchups on the Week 10 schedule starting with the Thursday night game between AFC North rivals Cincinnati and Baltimore. Another divisional contest has the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs hosting Denver. The Broncos ended a 16-game losing streak in the series with a 24-9 victory in the most recent encounter last season. The Chiefs are the biggest Week 10 favorite on the early line at the Bitcoin Sportsbook laying 9.5-points. The most intriguing game of the week has division leaders Washington and Pittsburgh squaring off in our nation’s capital. The Commanders improved to 7-2 led by Rookie of the Year front-runner Jayden Daniels, who threw two TD passes in a 27-22 cover win over the Giants on Sunday. The team formerly known as the Redskins is a slight 1.5-point favorite on the early betting line.

Bengals +6 at Ravens
Panthers +5 vs. NY Giants
NY Jets +1 at Cardinals
With three wins in their last four games the Bengals are entertaining thoughts of playoff football. There is plenty of work to be done, though, after a horrible start that put them in a hole. One of Cincy’s early season setbacks was to Baltimore when they lost 41-39 in overtime. It was one of the Bengals’ four losses decided by six points or less. The Bengals will likely have a hard time slowing down Lamar Jackson, but Joe Burrow can be just as lethal. He threw five TD passes in the first meeting and had five in Sunday’s win over the Raiders.
We typically see the Ravens play stingy defense, but that hasn’t been the case this season. They’ve given up a lot of points and have had to outscore opponents in their wins, though last week’s 41-10 decision over Denver showed progress. Still, Burrow has had some big games against the Ravens and a majority of their games have been close leading me to back the Bengals and the points.
The matchup between the Giants and Panthers wouldn’t get much attention if people didn’t wager on it. As bad as Carolina has been they actually have the same number of wins as the Giants after beating New Orleans, 23-22, on Sunday avenging their 47-10 loss in Week 1. Both teams have problems on offense and with points at a premium the spread of Carolina +5 is hard to ignore. Infused with confidence I’ll back the Panthers and the points.
Arizona has looked good during their recent winning streak, but the Jets got the jolt they needed beating Houston in Week 9. And they get some extra time to prepare after their Thursday night success against Houston. An efficient offense also ignited the defense, which held C.J. Stroud to less than 200 passing yards.

49ers -6 at Buccaneers
LA Chargers -7 vs. Titans
Laying a touchdown is steep but I’m backing the Chargers anyway. Their two highest scoring games of the season have come in the last two weeks and they don’t give up much on defense. The Bolts have not allowed more than 20 points in any games this season and with Tennessee’s problems locating the end zone it isn’t going to take much for the Chargers to cover spread. Justin Herbert had six scoring passes in his first six games and he has two in each of the last two contests. With a more dangerous offense coupled with the NFL top ranked scoring defense, the Titans are in trouble.
You’d have to say the first half of the season has been a disappointment for the NFC champion 49ers. They split their first eight games while dealing with numerous injuries. However, the bye allowed them to reset and we could see Christian McCaffrey back in the lineup. The Niners are still one of the best in the conference and the bye came at a good time. And they entered the off week on a positive beating Dallas in Week 8. The Niners haven’t had much difficulty with the Bucs winning three straight all of them by at least 13 points, and they won’t have an issue covering the spread in this contest.
