UFC Picks
Taira is listed as more than a 2-1 favorite in UFC betting odds to win this fight. Taira has been excellent on the mat and he will likely look to get this fight to the ground as soon as possible. The Japanese wrestler is a great attacker and he will look to get a quick takedown against Royval. If Royval doesn’t look any better than he did against Alexandre Pantoja in terms of submission defense, this one could be over quickly. We know that Royval is an aggressive fighter who takes chances and he would have the advantage if this fight stayed standing. That probably won’t happen though, as Royval simply isn’t good enough in his takedown defense. The best strategy for Royval would be to find a way to prolong this fight. He should look to get Taira moving from side to side and have him expend a lot of energy on takedowns. Whether he can do that or not is the ultimate question. The longer this fight goes the better chance Royval would have at getting the win.
I don’t lay prices that often in UFC betting, but I think Taira is the real deal and at just over 2-1 in UFC odds, I think the price is fair. I think Taira is simply a future title contender, while we already know what Royval can do, as he doesn’t match up well with the best fighters. I’ll lay the price in MMA odds and take Taira to get the win.
I also think the rounds will be worth looking at. I can’t see this fight going the distance and I think Taira will find a way to get the submission victory. That should mean that the rounds go under the total and if you want to take a UFC betting prop wager then taking Taira to win by submission is worth a flyer.
