Prates said this to ufc.com about his upcoming fight against Magny, “He's a guy I respect a lot. He seems like a nice guy, but when we step inside the Octagon, its just business. I want to close out the year in fashion, collecting another bonus. It would be dope to debut in the UFC rankings. It will definitely be a different fight (from his previous ones). Training for it is a little different, because it's five rounds now, against a fighter who I'm pretty sure will try and grapple with me. I'm a jiu-jitsu black belt and I like doing jiu-jitsu, but in MMA I prefer striking because I think it's the fastest way to end a fight. He's a really tough guy, hard to knock out, but I see myself finishing him in the third or fourth round.”

UFC Picks
Prates is listed as more than a 7-1 favorite in UFC odds and that is about as high a price as we have seen in a while. I know Magny has dropped four of his last seven fights, but he is still a quality fighter. Prates has obviously done nothing wrong in the UFC, winning all three of his fights but his competition level wasn’t anything special. Prates will probably win this fight, as Magny has seen better days, but I am not laying 7-1 on any fighter.
The rounds are listed at 2.5 and the under is about a 2-1 favorite in UFC betting odds. Prates has knocked out all three of his UFC opponents and that definitely seems like the most likely outcome in this fight. Magny has done nothing of late to show that he is going to win this fight. I’ll go under the total with the rounds as the top play in this fight. If you want to bet Prates to win then I guess you could bet on him to win by knockout or TKO but the price is still a bit too high for me.
