The 2024 U.S. Presidential Election is down to the final week with both candidates campaigning around the United States. Former President Donald Trump is now a solid favorite to win the election, but the odds have been extremely volatile over the last few months. Trump has gone from more than a 2-1 favorite to an underdog and now back to almost a 2-1 favorite in election odds. The odds on the Republican Party winning are now nearly 2-1 as well. The race is still close and we have learned in recent elections that polls mean very little. There was the debate that Harris won against Trump and the odds moved very little. When Trump survived the first assassination attempt the odds moved in his favor but after he survived the second assassination attempt the odds didn’t move at all.
This U.S. Presidential election is unlike any other, as news comes out every week that has the potential to change political odds. It is almost beyond words to think that the United States is now a country where people are trying to assassinate a Presidential candidate. That is what happens in corrupt countries. It is not supposed to happen in the United States.
We are now about a week away from November 6th and it seems the odds have stabilized a little bit with Trump about a 2-1 favorite. The polls still show the race to be extremely close and some polls have Harris leading the race. The polls almost always tilt in favor of the Democratic candidate, which is probably why most experts believe that Trump has a solid edge. If the polls are close then the Republican candidate probably has the real lead. It should be noted that the people in power do not want Donald Trump in the White House again and they will do whatever it takes to make sure Trump does not win. Remember what happened four years ago when Trump was leading into the night only to wake up the next morning and find himself behind. Some states won’t even finish counting the votes until days after the election so anything is possible.
We have already seen a wild 2024 U.S. Presidential election with former President Donald Trump surviving two assassination attempts and current President Joe Biden dropping out of the race. Trump was listed as a 2-1 favorite in the betting odds some months ago and then for a little while was listed as the underdog in election odds. He is now almost a 2-1 favorite yet again.
On the Republican side, the Republican nominee is former President Donald Trump. He won the Republican nomination and chosen as the nominee in the Republican convention in July. Trump has survived two assassination attempts and continues to gain momentum in the last week of the race. If something unforeseen happens then it would likely be Republican Vice President nominee J.D. Vance who is would replace Trump at the top of the ticket.
Also on the board at BookMaker for the 2024 U.S. Presidential election is the Electoral College Margin, the Electoral Vote total for each candidate, the popular vote winning party, and prices on the so-called swing states that will decide the 2024 election. Those states are Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Virginia, New Hampshire, Florida and Texas are also on the list, although almost no one considers any of the four states in play. Virginia and New Hampshire normally vote Democrat while Florida and Texas normally vote Republican. There are also odds on some states for the Senate races, including Michigan and Pennsylvania.
