Week 14 includes one of the highest scoring teams in the country with a Heisman Troiphy candidate quarterback that also moonlights as a top draft pick by Major League Baseball’s Oakland A’s. Indeed, Kyler Murray and the Oklahoma Sooners are riding high after a shootout win at the West Virginia Mountaineers last week. The problem is that they are half a team without much in the way of defense. The Texas Longhorns are one of the few teams in the Big 12 Conference that actually play defense. Not that they are dominant at it but they do at least make the occasional stop. Texas will face revenge minded Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game.
Kickoff for this regular season Week 14 game is set for Saturday, December 1, 2018, at noon ET at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas. TV coverage is on ABC.

Live Betting Odds Analysis
Oklahoma is the favorite based on their prolific X-Box offense and Murray, who may rival Tua Tagovailoa as the top signal caller in the land. Texas is not as respected as Oklahoma because they don’t have near the offensive firepower. But the Sooners defense is so bad that the Longhorns may find opportunities. It is that porous OU defense that may leave the live betting back door open.
Red River Rematch
The Sooners and Longhorns last met on October 6 in an epic Red River Shootout for the ages. Oklahoma was a seven-point favorite at the traditional neutral site of the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Texas blew a 45-24 fourth quarter lead as the Sooners tied the game with 2:38 to play. But that aforementioned Oklahoma defense couldn’t hold off a game winning Longhorn drive that ended with a 40-yard game winning field goal by Cameron Dicker “The Kicker” in a 48-45 Texas win. OU slightly outgained the Horns 532-501but Texas was plus three on turnover margin which was decisive.
Burnt Orange in Red
The Texas Longhorns are 9-3 straight up with a mark of 5-6-1 against the spread and a 6-6 mark on totals. Texas failed to cover a 24-17 win at Kansas last week as 15.5-point chalks. The Longhorns have come away with the cash in just two of their last six games. UT has gone under the total in their last two matchups.
Sooners OU Some Money
Oklahoma is 11-1 straight up but just 4-7-1 against the spread with a whopping 11 out of 12 games going over the total. Last week the Sooners thrilled a Friday night national television audience in a 59-56 win at the West Virginia Mountaineers as three points chalks. OU has not gotten the money in their last four games.
Matchup Metrics
Oklahoma boasts the top ranked offense in the country both overall and for scoring. Offsetting that is a defense that ranks 111th in the nation overall and 100th for points allowed.
Texas ranks 59th in the nation for total offense and 46th for scoring. Defensively the Longhorns rank 61st in the country for total defense and 52nd for points allowed.
Quarterback Tale of the Tape
Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray is one of the most dynamic and exciting players in the country. Murray has a 206.8 quarterback rating with 37 touchdown passes and just seven interceptions. He is averaging 12.01 yards per pass. Murray is also averaging 7.5 yards per carry with 853 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger is not a video game star like Murray but he is a competent game manager that doesn’t make mistakes. Ehlinger has 23 touchdown passes with just four interceptions.
Free Live Betting ATS Pick
Texas has gotten the money in six straight games with OU. The OU defense simply cannot be trusted. Texas has the balance to again get the cash.
