College Football bowl action continues in earnest with the Boston College Eagles taking on the Boise State Broncos in the ServPro First Responder Bowl. BC has been stuck in low gear under head coach Steve Addazio in that they are a consistent bowl team but little more than that. The Eagles one asset is a powerful offensive line and ground attack. Boise State has long been the marquee program of the Group of Five but has not been a top ten contender since 2011. As usual the Broncos have a prolific offense and passing attack. In essence this is matchup of opposites.
The Servpro First Responder Bowl will go down Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. ET at the Cotton Bowl, Dallas Texas. The game can be seen on ESPN.

Boston College Eagles Form and Metrics
Boston College has a record of 7-5 straight up and against the spread with 6-6 on totals. The Eagles finished in fourth place in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. BC lost and failed to cover their final three games which took a lot of luster from what was going to be a potentially big season. On offense Boston College has national rankings of 65th overall and 42nd for scoring. Defensively the Eagles rank 71st in the nation overall and 53rd for points allowed. Boston College has won seven games for the last three consecutive seasons. The have gone bowling in five out of Addazio’s six seasons.
Boise State Top Players
Boise State is led by quarterback Brett Rypien, who posted a 67.3 completion rate good for 3705 yards with 30 touchdown passes and just seven interceptions. Rypien averaged 8.3 yards per pass attempt. Bolstering the Boise State attack is running back Alexander Mattison. Mattison ran for 1415 yards with 4.7 yards per carry and 17 touchdowns. Sean Modster was Rypien’s favorite target with 68 catches, 978 yards and eight touchdowns. The opportunity for Modster to clear the 1000-yard mark will not be lost on the Broncos. Rypien is a senior that would love to go out in glory with a bowl win.
Boston College Top Players
Boston College is led by running back AJ Dillon, who ran for 1108 yards, 4.8 yards per carry and 10 touchdowns. Quarterback Anthony Brown threw for 2121 yards and 20 touchdown passes with nine interceptions.
