Florida State vs. Georgia Tech College Football Parlay Picks

The 2024 college football season officially begins on Saturday when ACC rivals Florida State and Georgia Tech play in Dublin, Ireland in a game that can be seen on ESPN. Despite finishing the 2023 college football season undefeated, the Seminoles missed out on a College Football Playoff berth. The Florida State Seminoles are once again the favorite to win the ACC this season, but a lot will depend upon the play of DJ Uiagalelei, a transfer quarterback from Oregon State. On the other side, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who aim to advance as a program under head coach Brent Key are expected to be improved this season. When you bet on college football using crypto for this game you will find Florida State listed as an 11-point favorite with a total of 55.5. Let’s look at the Florida State vs. Georgia Tech Same Game Parlay.

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, the Florida State Seminoles play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Kickoff time is set for noon ET with television coverage on ESPN.

Odds Analysis

With Week 1 college football odds, there has been a lot of time for bettors to wager on the games, as the lines have been out for months. Florida State opened as a 12.5-point favorite and the betting has been on Georgia Tech with the line moving down to the current number of 11. The total opened at 56 and there has been slight movement on the under with the current number at 55.5.

Florida State Seminoles

The Seminoles are not going to be as good as they were a year ago, as they lost 13 players to the NFL. They will have a new quarterback, as Jordan Travis is now in the NFL, so Florida State will be looking to DJ Uiagalelei to lead them this season. He had a year at Oregon State after previously playing at Clemson. He has plenty of experience and there is no question he can present problems for a Georgia Tech defense that has some weaknesses.

The concern for Florida State might be on defense, as they have four new players on defense. The new starters are Marvin Jones Jr., Cam Riley, Davonte Brown and Earl Little Jr. The Seminoles were second in the ACC in total defense (305.7) and pass defense (170.4) a year ago. They allowed just 15.9 points per game a year ago and they do return senior linebacker DJ Lund who had 54 total tackles, six tackles for loss and two sacks.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The Georgia Tech offense figures to be good again, as they return quarterback Haynes King. He threw for more than 3,400 yards and had 35 total touchdowns last season but he did throw 16 interceptions. Georgia Tech was first in the ACC last season in rushing yards per game at 203.8 and they return junior running back Jamal Haynes who had 1,059 yards with seven TDs las season. He also caught 20 passes for 151 yards.

In this game, Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Tyler Santucci will call plays for the first time on the defensive end of the ball. After working as Mike Elko's coach at Texas A&M and Duke for years, Santucci is likely to stick with his aggressive 4-2-5 style. The skill level of the Yellow Jackets' front seven is the most significant concern. Tech created depth in the transfer portal by making a lot of moves. Along with inside players Makius Scott and Zeek Biggers, three Power Four transfers will join the new defense, which is expected to minimize explosive passes. But nobody on this defensive line produced a pass rush grade that was better than ordinary. Additionally, two of the starting linebackers from the previous campaign have been replaced by transfers.

Seminoles vs. Yellow Jackets Same Game Parlay Pick

Florida State has won four of the last seven meetings in this series but they are a pathetic 1-5-1 ATS. Four of the seven games went over the total. I don’t know that I trust Florida State laying double-digits and there is no question the trends are in favor of the Yellow Jackets. I’ll go with Georgia Tech plus the points and also play the game over the total.
