Two teams on opposite ends of the SEC West spectrum are set to tangle in a Week 6 matchup with the nation’s top-ranked team playing in only its second true road game of the season. The Alabama Crimson Tide kept its standing as the No. 1 ranked team with yet another blowout win, a 56-14 thrashing of Louisiana-Lafayette. The Tide opened as a 34-point favorite against the Arkansas Razorbacks, a lofty number but considering Bama’s starters have yet to finish a game, there could be some money to win on the second half live betting lines.
Watch this Week 6 matchup live on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 12 p.m. ET at Razorback Stadium.

A glance at the stats and records shows us exactly why the Tide is a 34-point road favorite on the opening college football betting lines at BookMaker.eu. Bama has topped the 50-point mark four times and scored at least 45 points in each of its five games to lead the nation with 54.2 points per game. As good as the Tide is offensively they are equally efficient on the other side of the football. Bama is holding opponents to an average of 13 points per game with an average margin of victory at 41.2 points.
Covering the Spread
Alabama pushed the 49-point final spread at halftime of its game against the Ragin Cajuns and had the line covered in the third quarter following a touchdown pass from third-string quarterback Mac Jones. However, Alabama’s backups couldn’t add to the margin and the defense surrendered two fourth quarter touchdowns, giving Louisiana-Lafayette a late cover on the closing line. As has been the case with Bama this season, behind the splendid play of Tua Tagovailoa they score early and often, forcing a change in the spread and total on the live betting line.
Tua completed all eight of his passes for 128 yards and two scores with most of the damage coming in the first quarter when the Tide built a 28-0 lead. There isn’t much of a drop when Nick Saban goes to his second-teamers, especially on offense. Jalen Hurts took the Tide to a pair of National Championship games and despite losing his starting job he continues to compete.
Saban knows when to call off the dogs and that allowed the Ragin Cajuns to cover the enormous closing line last week. Texas AM also put up a fourth quarter touchdown two weeks ago while blanking the Tide to give the Aggies a late cover on the closing line. When Bama jumps out to a big lead, which it will do against the Hogs, consider jumping on Arkansas on the readjusted in-game betting line at BookMaker.eu.
The Razorbacks lost again last week for the fourth straight time, falling to Texas AM. But the margin was close and the Hogs easily covered the 20-point closing spread in their 24-17 loss. You could call it progress since that’s the closest Arkansas has been during their four-game slide.
Not So Special Teams
One area that is a concern for Chad Morris and his staff is special teams play. For the second straight game the Hogs surrendered a kickoff return touchdown and Bama has some talent in the return game.
In their loss to Auburn, the Hogs allowed Noah Igbinoghene to scoot 96-yards for a score and last week the Aggies’ Jashaun Corbin went 100-yards with the opening kick to set the tone. Earlier in the year the Hogs were fooled on a punt return touchdown by North Texas, adding insult to an embarrassing 44-17 loss.

Arkansas showed some improvement last week but the Hogs are going to find it difficult to win a game in the SEC if they don’t improve on offense. They had two long scoring drives, but they also went three-and-out on seven possessions, including all four in the first quarter. They won’t move the ball against Bama and with the Tua and the Tide gunning for a fast start, look at the first quarter line on the in-game betting odds and thrown down on the visitors.
The second half will be a different story. The Hogs could dent Bama’s reserves and with Jones leading the Tide’s offense, points will be hard to get. That’s the time to pound the Hogs on the adjusted betting line at BookMaker.eu.
