The Michigan Wolverines are hitting the road this week to take on the Maryland Terrapins. Michigan is 6-2 overall this season but only 1-2 on the road. Maryland has struggled this season but the location of the game kept the oddsmakers from placing the spread too high, originally instituting the Wolverines as the 17-point favorites. Michigan was quickly wagered on by all sorts of people, as more than 95 percent of the early money went that way. The line has moved all the way up to make the Terrapins a 21-point underdog. For the rare bettors who were interesting in Maryland for this one, the spread just became way more appetizing, and those who jumped on Michigan at -17 have to be feeling good about their chances.
There has been a good deal of movement in the game between the BYU Cougars and Utah State Aggies. Utah State is only 4-3 overall this season but 3-0 at home, which is why the oddsmakers made it the 6.5-point favorite against BYU. However, the 3-4 Cougars were getting most of the action and thus the spread has dropped to 3.5 points. The scoring total has also done a dive as it opened at 54 points but is now down to 50.5. The smart money is on the “under” in this game, as most people believe the defenses will step up.
The Oregon Ducks have been one of the hottest teams in the country of late as they have reeled off seven consecutive victories. They are on the road this week in a critical clash against the USC Trojans and were pegged as 7-point favorites when the lines were released. However, the sharps were all over that as the spread has dropped to 4.5 points.
Miami is on the road against Florida State this week, and both teams are just 4-4 on the year. The oddsmakers put the Seminoles as 6.5-point favorites to begin the week but the money quickly came in on the Hurricanes, dropping the spread to 3.5 points. The scoring total has also gone down as sharps hammered the “under” on that opening line. The over/under is currently at 46.5 points, four points lower than where it began.

Maryland is at home against a Michigan team that does not always put up a bunch of points, and a three-touchdown spread is enticing.
