After a couple of near-misses on previous college football parlays, the betting Gods were against me last week handing me a trio of defeats on my three-team card. If you’re going to go down you might as well do it in spectacular fashion. The final weekend of the regular season gives us one last chance to hit a winner with several rivalry games on tap. The ever-changing landscape of college football will eliminate some of the sports best rivalries and we will never again see the Pac-12 as we know it. As a send off to the Conference of Champions my bitcoin betting Week 13 parlay will consist of teams from that league. That means I have to do some extra work handicapping those schools, but it also narrows my focus with fewer games to pick from.
Unfortunately last week sucked. It started with North Carolina losing to Clemson 31-20 as a 7.5-point dog. If ever the Tigers were ripe for the picking this was it. But like they’ve done the last few seasons the Heels vapor-locked down the stretch. The writing was on the wall with UNC losing outright to UVA and Georgia Tech when laying double figures. And the offense struggled in the 31-20 loss. Another reason why weather reports factor into wagering was the Washington/Oregon State game. Played in a constant downpour the Huskies were shutout in the second half but held on for a 22-20 victory, falling well short of the 64-point total. Lastly I backed red hot San Jose State, who won their fifth straight game to become bowl-eligible but failed to cover the 14.5-point spread in a 24-13 win over San Diego State.
From the Egg Bowl to the Iron Bowl rivalry week is filled with games where stats and records are meaningless. The Pac-12 has its versions of rivalries that include the Civil War, though both Oregon State and Oregon took the route of political correctness to eliminate the name. The Territorial Cup is on the line for the annual clash between Arizona and Arizona State in what the NCAA has certified as the oldest rivalry trophy in college football.

You can attempt to change the name but that doesn’t alter the fact that the schools have a strong dislike for each other. And with the Ducks staring at a Pac-12 championship rematch with Washington and a possible CFP berth on the line, you know the Beavers are amped to deny them. Don’t underestimate OSU’s defense, which has held five opponents to fewer than 20 points and ranks among the top 30 nationally in yards and points per game allowed. Granted they played in a monsoon but they held Washington to 272 yards last week.
D.J. Uiagalelei is looking for a rebound effort after tossing a pair of picks in the UW game. In five previous outings he had 12 TD passes and no interceptions. The Beavers have won two of the last three meetings and stayed within the current line of 13 points in the setback.
After starting the season 3-3 Arizona has been on a roll winning five straight, including a 42-18 blowout of defending league champ Utah last week. They also bumped off ranked foes Washington State, Oregon State and UCLA in successive weeks during that stretch. With a shot of playing in the Pac-12 title game still on table the Wildcats have something to play for. And ASU doesn’t. I don’t like laying double figures in a rivalry game where the dog has nothing at stake but pride, but Arizona also has plenty on the line.
I like the offenses of UCLA and Cal better than I like their defensive units, which is why I’m backing the OVER on my parlay. The Bears surrendered at least 50 points four times this season against the four highest scoring teams in the league. They’ve been decent in the other outings but can be scored on. Chase Garbers gives UCLA an added dimension and his return sparked the 38-20 win over rival USC. Garbers missed the previous game, a 17-7 setback to ASU.
