College Football Week 4 Parlay Picks

As we head into Week 4 of the college football season teams will start to play games against conference opponents. And with the realigned league’s we get some interesting matchups to use on a college football parlay. The slate for Friday has Stanford as an 8.5-point underdog at Syracuse in an ACC confrontation. On Saturday there’s a Big Ten showdown between ranked squads when the No. 11 USC Trojans visit the Big House to take on No. 18 Michigan in their first ever league game. Though they are 0-3 against the college football line and were routed by Texas at home two weeks ago, the Wolverines hit the board at the Crypto Sportsbook as a 5.5-point favorite. Speaking of the Longhorns, they leapfrogged Georgia as the new No. 1 team in the national rankings beating their first three opponents by a combined score of 139-19. They are a massive 44.5-point home favorite against Louisiana-Monroe. After missing on two of my three picks last week I’m hoping for better results in Week 4.

Week 4 College Football Parlay Card Wagers

Nebraska -8 vs. Illinois

Tennessee / Oklahoma OVER 56.5

UTEP +9 vs. Colorado State

The only win on last week’s three-team parlay was backing BC +16.5 in their game against Mizzou. The Eagles had a 14-3 lead in the second quarter but squandered it with Missouri scoring 24 unanswered points to make it interesting. BC secured the payout with a late touchdown in the 27-21 final. Our pick Kansas came up short against a good UNLV squad losing outright 23-20 as a 7-point home favorite. The 16-points Oregon State got wasn’t enough in their 49-14 loss to Oregon. My honorable mention picks also sucked, but I’ll try it again this week.

We’ll get our winning parlay started on Friday night in the Big Ten game between Illinois and Nebraska. The difference in this one will be Nebraska’s defense, which has allowed a total of 20 points in three games. The group was great last year but didn’t get much help from the guys on the other side of the football. That changed with the arrival of blue-chip recruit Dylan Raiola, who’s been as advertised so far. He’s completing nearly 74 percent of his passes with five TDs and the Huskers are averaging 34 points. The Illini are off to a hot start but they don’t have the weapons on offense making Nebraska at home my pick laying the 8-points.

The game between Tennessee and Oklahoma might be the best on the docket and there won’t be a shortage of offense. You know the Vols will want to crank it up with Josh Heupel returning to his old stomping grounds. They’ve scored more than 50 points in all three games, lead the nation in scoring and are among the top three in rushing and total offense. And the Sooners will be pumped playing their first conference game as a member of the SEC. The defensive numbers are solid for both teams but skewed due to the opposition, and with both facing a legitimate offense the total of 56.5 is low.

With the entire UTEP program getting an overhaul tough times were expected as the start of the season. The low point came a few weeks ago in a loss to FCS Southern Utah, but the Miners regrouped and played much better last week losing 28-10 to Liberty as a 24-point road dog. They get a Colorado State team that’s more on their level and catching 9.5-points is a plus. The Rams handled their FCS opponent beating Northern Colorado 38-17 in Week 2 when they were favored by 30.5-points.

I hit the OVER on the Iowa-Troy game for my only honorable mention CFB parlay win last week. I’ll do it again with Cal +2.5 at Florida State as one of my selections. The Bears surprised me winning at Auburn in Week 2 and they were solid in a 31-10 win over San Diego State last week. I haven’t lost backing the OVER in an Iowa game yet so I’ll keep rolling with the Hawkeyes. They get Minnesota on Saturday with the Gophers on a 2-game roll without allowing a point. Beating Rhode Island and Nevada isn’t exactly a stunner, but scoring 75 combined points is good enough against the low total of 35.5.
