The College Football National Championship Game between Georgia and Alabama on Monday is a great opportunity to bet props. The Super Bowl has the most props of any game and gets the most attention, but the College Football National Championship also gets a lot of attention and it presents some good betting opportunities. There are not as many prop bets available for the game between Georgia and Alabama, but there are enough to give you some variety and add some excitement to the game. Let’s look at some of the props available for the big game and a few bests bets.
The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the Georgia Bulldogs in the National Championship Game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. This game will take place on Monday, January 10, 2022, with a kickoff time set for 8 p.m. ET and television coverage on ESPN.
Alabama Team Total Points 25.5
When Georgia and Alabama met in the SEC Championship Game it was all Crimson Tide, as they rolled to a 41-24 victory. The Crimson Tide relied heavily on the arm of Bryce Young in this game, as he threw for 421 yards and three touchdowns. It will not be as easy on Monday night, as Young will be without one of his favorite targets, as John Metchie III is out due to injury. The Georgia defense will likely give a lot of attention to Jameson Williams and that should mean Alabama running the ball a lot more. When teams run the ball, they take time off the clock and shorten the game. I don’t see this game being a shootout and the Georgia defense is going to be much better than they were in the SEC title game. I’ll go under the total on the Alabama team points.
First Player to Score a Touchdown
Jameson Williams +600
Brock Bowers +700
Brian Robinson Jr. +850
Zamir White +900
George Pickens +1000
James Cook +1000
Slade Bolden +1300
Jaheel Billingsley +2000
Ja'Corey Brooks +2000
Jermaine Burton +2200
Cameron Latu +2300
Ladd McConkey +2500
Kenny McIntosh +2600
Bryce Young +2600
Georgia D/ST +2600
Adonai Mitchell +3000
Jojo Earle +3100
Alabama D/ST +3100
Stetson Bennett +3400
Everyone else is listed at odds of +4500 or more.
One of the favorite props for bettors in the Super Bowl is the first player to score a touchdown and this prop will also get some attention from college football bettors. The value in this prop is definitely on the Georgia players. Zamir White led the Bulldogs in touchdowns this season and his odds are listed at +900. I think he is worth a small play. As a longshot, taking the Georgia defense to score the first TD of the game at odds of +2600 is worth considering.
Player Passing Yards
Bryce Young 313.5 yards
Stetson Bennett 244.5 yards
When Georgia wins, they run the ball and don’t force Bennett into having to win the game with his arm. I think this game is going to be tight with both teams running the ball effectively. I think you can make a good case for taking both Young and Bennett to go under their yardage totals.
Player Receiving Yards
Jameson Williams 115.5
Brock Bowers 75.5
Williams is an excellent receiver but this number is really high, especially considering he is going to get added attention from the Georgia defense. There may be some value in taking his total under the total.
Player Rushing Yards
Brian Robinson Jr. 65.5
Zamir White 53.5
James Cook 42.5
The total on Zamir White seems really low considering he is the top back for Georgia. The Bulldogs do give time to both White and Cook, but White led the team in rushing and in touchdowns. It doesn’t take much for White to go over this total, as he just needs 54 yards.
