There is one thing that can save the season for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. A win would be nice, but beating the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday just might save Scott Frost’s job. A .500 team just a few weeks ago, the Huskers have dropped three in a row SU and ATS by a combined total of 15 points and are headed for their fifth straight losing season. Losing is not in the vocabulary at Ohio State and the Buckeyes are a two-touchdown plus favorite to extend their Big Ten winning streak to 27. OSU has won the last six meetings with five of those games decided by 25 points or more. The Buckeyes are a 14.5-point favorite on the college football betting line.
This Week 10 college football matchup takes place on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 12 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE and will be televised on FOX. College football odds are available at BookMaker.eu for this and every game this season.

Odds Analysis
I’m a bit surprised the spread isn’t higher. It was when first hitting the board with OSU laying 15.5-points. There was some buyback on the Huskers dropping the number a full point to OSU -14.5. The Buckeyes closed as a favorite of at least 14 points in every game and saw their 4-game ATS winning streak end last week against Penn State. They are 4-3-1 ATS overall. It’s been another hugely disappointing season for the Huskers, who have lost three straight and five of their last six games. They were favored in the last two and all six setbacks have been by a single score. The total ticked up to 65 after hitting the board at 64.
Ohio State Buckeyes
It had been a while since the Buckeyes played a close game so last week’s matchup with Penn State was a good test. In four games prior to the PSU contest, the Buckeyes annihilated Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers and Akron by an average of over 46 points with no game closer than 39 points. They covered the spread in every game while cashing the OVER in the last three.
They didn’t play the cream of the Big Ten crop and Akron was a pushover, so big wins were expected. But expecting to win big and doing it are two different things. The Buckeyes showed they have the goods by holding off Penn State, 33-24. And the Buckeyes responded well when they had to. They led by just six points late in the fourth quarter before a short field goal iced the game.
While this is not a traditional trap game, the Buckeyes could be eyeing the schedule that has them playing Michigan State and Michigan the final two games. At least there’s a matchup with Purdue before that. For a second straight game OSU goes against a strong defensive club. They amassed 466 total yards against PSU with C.J. Stroud throwing for 305 yards and TreVeyon Henderson rushing for 152. OSU ranks first nationally in yards and points per game.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
With the season in a downward spiral after three straight losses, the Huskers are close to yet another losing season. Their chances of reaching bowl eligibility took a severe hit last week with a 28-23 loss to Purdue when favored by 7.5-points. It was Nebraska’s third straight setback while going 0-3 ATS. The three losses were by a combined 15 points and all six losses have been by a single score.
There is no one in particular to blame for the direction of the season. Frost will likely be out after another losing campaign. Beating Ohio State would be huge for the program, but the way things have gone in the series doesn’t give Nebraska much hope. Nebraska won the first meeting as Big Ten rivals back in 2011, but the Huskers have lost every game since going 0-6 SU and 1-5 ATS. They surrendered at least 36 points in all six games and three times they allowed more than 50.
The defense has kept Nebraska in every game and the group will need another strong effort to slow down OSU. Adrian Martinez will need to play the game of his life, but he’s lacking confidence after tossing four interceptions last week. And the offense scored just one second half touchdown with that coming late in the fourth quarter after the Huskers blew a halftime lead.
Ohio State at Nebraska
With the Buckeyes the first team out of the CFP’s initial rankings, they need a win and style points to make a move. And with the Huskers floundering this is a good spot for OSU to secure both. Even a good defense can’t stop OSU’s cadre of weapons and the Buckeyes will go for the jugular against a reeling squad.
