Last year Penn State lost a tough 39-38 decision at the Horseshoe as the Nits blew leads of 28-10 and then 38-33 with 4:20 to play. Saturday night is a famed “White Out” at Beaver Stadium where over 100,000 screaming fans will be “well lubricated” and decked out in all white. Ohio State lost in their last White Out appearance two years ago.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were thrashed at the Stanford Cardinal last year 38-20 but now get the Cardinal under the watchful eyes of Touchdown Jesus on Saturday night. The Irish are four point chalks in this one. Excitement is building for new Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book after he threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns in his debut as starter last week at Wake Forest. And will Stanford have anything left in the tank after stunning overtime win and comeback at Oregon last Saturday?

Cal’s defense is ranked 16th in the country and adds a dangerous element. Justin Wilcox has completely flipped the look of the Golden Bears as they have gone from having no defense to one of the best stop units in the country.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders are getting 3.5 points at home against the West Virginia Mountaineers. Texas Tech is coming off their most impressive win in years last Saturday when they scored a stunning 41-17 upset win at Oklahoma State as 14.5-point dogs. Best of all the much-maligned Red Raiders defense shut down one of the top offenses in the country. And that new-found confidence will be needed against the high flying and undefeated West Virginia Mountaineers. This could prove to be the ultimate trap for the Mounties.
Nebraska has flopped on their face under new head coach Scott Frost to stand at 0-3 both straight up and against the spread. They are now a four-point home dog against a 1-3 Purdue team that the Huskers beat last year in a 25-24 road win. Nebraska was slaughtered 56-10 at Michigan last Saturday. Frost will certainly turn this program around. And as the saying goes its darkest before dawn.
