Injuries were the name of the game in Week 2 of the NFL season. We saw a slew of huge names go out of games, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Jimmy Garoppolo's time as the New England starter is likely said and done with after he sprained his AC joint, while Josh McCown's career might be over after he suffered a shoulder injury for the Browns a week after Robert Griffin III suffered the same injury. Throw in running backs Adrian Peterson, Doug Martin, Ameer Abdullah, Arian Foster and Danny Woodhead, and you've got the makings of a lot of offenses that are going to look a lot different in Week 3 than they did in Week 2.... 

The Los Angeles Rams set the game of professional football back to the dark ages in their 2016 debut at San Francisco falling to the 49ers 28-0 as decided road chalk. Now they reopen the Coliseum back in their customary role of home underdog and you’ll be hard pressed to find an NFL bettor brave enough to want a piece of them in this Week 2 division tilt with the rival Seattle Seahawks. Neither team is really expected to be in the playoff race in 2016, but Detroit showed some impressive offensive flashes in its first regular season game without star receiver Calvin Johnson, who retired in the offseason. The New Orleans Saints and New York Giants both played in nail-biters to open the season, but only one emerged victorious. New York is the team feeling good about itself after knocking off the Cowboys, and will aim to remain undefeated in this Week 2 matchup at home.The Saints blew a big lead against the Raiders and fell 35-34, as the offense predictably excelled and the defense unsurprisingly came up short. This could be a big-time shootout as both teams have impresses offenses and mediocre defenses.... 

The Oakland Raiders used a furious comeback to win a key road game over the Saints in their opener. Now they will aim to move to 2-0 with a home win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2 of the regular season.Oakland looks like a potential playoff team, and continuing to pull out toss-ups could greatly improve those odds. The Falcons showed some things offensively in their opener but couldn’t slow down Tampa Bay in a opening game loss. That seems like it could be the theme of this season, and the defense will get a good test in this matchup.... 

It was no Brady, no Gronk, no problem for the New England Patriots in their opener. Backup signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo and the rest of the cast went to Arizona and shocked the Cardinals as nine-point underdogs.Now, even without Tom Brady, who still has three games remaining of his Deflategate suspension, the Patriots are sizable favorites against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2 of the regular season. MIami nearly upset the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 and now will hit the road again to try to knock off another expected contender.... 

Raise your hand if you expected the San Francisco 49ers to be 1-0 and the Carolina Panthers to be 0-1 after the first week of the regular season. A course correction is coming, because as good as San Francisco looked in its opener against the Rams, beating Carolina on the road will be nearly impossible.The 49ers had a fine defensive showing to win their opener, and that’s the only way they will be able to keep this one close. The Panthers should be a sizable favorite to take care of business and should have no trouble equaling its record after a last-second loss to the Broncos to open the season.... 

The Houston Texans will be out for double revenge in Week 2 when they welcome the Kansas City Chiefs back to NRG Stadium in hopes of avenging a pair of home losses incurred to Andy Reid’s squad last season with the latest coming in the form of a 30-0 beat down in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. KC could be without a couple of major playmakers on offense for this tilt, so there will be no excuses for Houston not to get the job done.This contest in Week 2 of the regular season will go down Sunday, September 18, 2016, at 1 p.m. ET at NRG Stadium.... 

Two teams that despise each other will renew the bad blood when the Cincinnati Bengals travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 of the NFL regular season. The pair met in the postseason a year ago and the game was marred by cheap hits and a lot of trash talking.Bengals star linebacker Vontaze Burfict was suspended three games for a hit on Antonio Brown and will sit this one out. Pittsburgh scratched out the victory in last year’s playoffs but Cincinnati has a healthy Andy Dalton this time around. The Steelers will likely be slight favorites but this could be an epic showdown between two of the best teams in the AFC.... 

The NFC East is hard to pin down, but maybe it can get some early clarity when a pair of expected divisional contenders face off. The Washington Redskins will host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2 of the regular season.The Redskins will face off with the Pittsburgh Steelers in their opener on Monday Night Football this week and then they will get ready for the divisional clash. The Cowboys don’t have the services of quarterback Tony Romo for several weeks because of a back injury, and rookie quarterback Dak Prescott is the man again after almost leading Dallas to a win in its opener.... 

While the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills aren’t currently seen as top contenders in the AFC, they both could be in the playoff race in 2016. With so many teams vying for just a few spots, wins in toss-up games early on are crucial.That looks to be the case in Week 2 of the regular season, as the Jets and Bills face off in a matchup that could have big ramifications down the line. Both teams will be eager to get back in the winning column in this one as the Jets are fresh off a season-opening loss to the Bengals and the Bills fell to Ravens.... 

The Baltimore Ravens were hit hard by injuries a year ago and stumbled from start to finish, missing the playoffs by a wide margin after being so accustomed to being there. They are back to health and picked up a solid win in their opener against the Buffalo BIlls.The Ravens are on the road but will be favored in Week 2 when they face off against the Cleveland Browns. The early games are important as Baltimore aims to place itself among the playoff contenders in the AFC. The schedule is favorable and Cleveland will need to play well, even at home, to have a chance to pull off the upset.... 

Could we have really asked for anything better than this in Week 1? Competitive games took place all over the country, and virtually every game had at least some drama in it over the course of the last two minutes. We had huge comebacks, epic collapses, overtime finishes, last second field goals, an incredible amount of points and huge defensive efforts. And that was just one week of the season.The odds in Week 2 are sure to be tighter as a result of all of the competitive action in Week 1, and not surprisingly, there isn't a team on the board as of publication of this article who is favored by more than a touchdown....

While Jared Goff and Colin Kaepernick might be getting the publicity, it will be Case Keenum and Blaine Gabbert who help decide the result in Week 1 of the regular season.Kaepernick is a lightning rod of controversy in the NFL for his decision to not stand during the National Anthem, but will only be the backup behind Gabbert. Goff was the No. 1 overall pick but didn’t win the starting job in the preseason.The 49ers are expected to be among the worst teams in the NFL this year, but have a chance to win their opener. San Francisco is at home and is only a slight underdog.... 

The Washington Redskins won the NFC East a season ago and made the playoffs, but many are expecting a step back in 2016. Washington can challenge that narrative immediately as they get a tough home matchup in Week 1 of the regular season against the Pittsburgh Steelers.The Steelers could be one of the best teams in the AFC in 2016 and will aim to prove it in Washington, although they must try to do so without one of their biggest stars. Pittsburgh is a slight road favorite in this contest.This matchup in Week 1 of the regular season will take place on Monday, September 12, 2016, at 7:10 p.m. ET at FedEx Field.... 

Dak Prescott, you’re up. After an outstanding preseason, the rookie quarterback has been forced to take the reins of the Dallas Cowboys following the back injury to starter Tony Romo. Prescott will aim to hit the ground running in this home game, but the Cowboys face a formidable foe in Week 1 as the New York Giants come to town.The NFC East seems wide open and the winner of this one will be happy to get an early leg up on the other.This contest in Week 1 of the regular season will go down Sunday, September 11, 2016, at 4:25 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium.... 

The Seattle Seahawks fell short of making the Super Bowl in 2015 for the first time in three seasons, but have the type of roster to make another push this year. They will begin the season as the only double-digit favorite of Week 1 of the regular season and will aim to make quick work of the Miami Dolphins.The Seahawks have more talent on both sides of the ball and are at home, which is the type of combination which makes it tough to see them lose to begin the year.This matchup in Week 1 of the regular season will take place on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at 4:05 p.m. ET at CenturyLink Stadium.... 

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck’s ascent to NFL superstardom hit a big speed bump in 2015, as injuries and ineffectiveness dealt him a bitter pill. He is still young and talented, and hopes to start Week 1 of the regular season off right against the Detroit Lions.
