Old School Meets New School
The NFC East has been atrocious all season long, and it's only fitting that both Chip Kelly and Tom Coughlin will face off with one another with their Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants respectively, knowing that both very well could be dismissed once this game is said and done with.NFL Odds at BookMaker.eu...
It's officially last call time in the NFL. There are four teams battling for two spots in the AFC playoff picture and plenty of jostling left to be done in the NFC as well even though the six teams who are in the postseason are set....
In what amounts to a playoff game for both sides, the Cincinnati and Denver will showcase their teams on Monday Night Football minus their star attractions – a starting quarterback. The Bengals can not only clinch the AFC North with a win, but also secure a bye into the division round, and it’s only fitting they do it on the road, where they are 6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS....
The Ravens have eight players who were classified as starters at the start of the year currently on injured reserve and 19 total on the list. That kinda sums up the season for coach John Harbaugh. Baltimore will give its best shot in this AFC North battle and a sweep of the Steelers would lessen the blow of a disappointing campaign. But that’s unlikely to happen with a group of minor leaguers suiting up....
The Rams rode the emotion of playing what could be their last game in St. Louis to a 31-23 victory over Tampa Bay last week and showed signs of having an offense. The Rams put up their highest point total since dropping 34 on Seattle in the season opener. The Seahawks’ 5-0 SU and ATS win streak got them a playoff berth after a 2-4 start....
NFC powerhouses collide with plenty at stake when the Cardinals host the Packers on Sunday. Arizona’s ninth straight win would wrap up a first-round playoff bye, but the Cards haven’t been overpowering at home, going 0-4 ATS in their last four at University of Phoenix Stadium, with their last two wins by three points each....
The 49ers are visiting Detroit at the wrong time. Of course, for the Niners, there hasn’t been a good time to visit anybody. San Francisco is 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS on the road this season, and all but one of those games were blowouts. That included a 14-point loss at Cleveland – that’s right, Cleveland....
It could be the end of an era in New Orleans. Coach Sean Payton has been rumored to be moving elsewhere and Drew Brees isn’t getting any younger. Brees, however, is getting hurt more and there’s a chance he misses the home finale with a sprained foot, putting the Saints in a bigger hole against the Jaguars....
After a 38-0 demolition of the Falcons just two games ago, it might be difficult for Carolina to gear up for Sunday’s rematch. Knowing that a 19th straight regular season win gets them homefield advantage throughout the playoffs could be enough to do the trick....
New York’s chances of making the postseason are slim. They get a whole lot slimmer if Odell Beckham Jr. has his one-game suspension upheld. OBJ went nuts last week and was slapped by the league after some on-field altercations with an opponent. His actions and the league’s response likely cost the Giants a shot at the NFC East title and coach Tom Coughlin his job....
Things are bigger in Texas, so it’s only fitting the Cowboys trot out their fourth starting quarterback of the season. Kellen Moore has been in the NFL for four years and made his first regular-season appearance last week, providing a little spark to what’s been a listless offense all season....
With the Bucs eliminated from playoff contention with last week’s loss, they now set their sights ahead to 2016. The Bears take a peak back as they go against former coach Lovie Smith, who is the last man to guide Chicago to the postseason and a Super Bowl....
Backup quarterback Brandon Weeden is in position to lead a team to the playoffs after all. He was booed out of Dallas after failing to get a win when taking over for Tony Romo. Now, Weeden can direct the Texans to a division title as the third-stringer. Houston has been close to a sure thing when taking on the Titans, posting an 8-1 ATS record in the last nine meetings....
New York coach Todd Bowles said his team will need some help from the football gods to make the playoffs. The Jets must first defeat the quarterback God in what amounts to a must-win game to have any chance of reaching the postseason. During Tom Brady’s tenure the Patriots have won 23 of 30 games against the Jets, making the task more difficult....
The Colts blew a chance to take control of the AFC South and now need plenty of help to squeeze into the playoffs. They first must have a healthy quarterback to line up under center on Sunday. The Dolphins have nothing to play for and it showed last week. Maybe they’ll at least show up on Sunday....
Holiday cheer won't be on the docket on Saturday night in the City of Brotherly Love. The Philadelphia Eagles' season hangs in the balance against the Washington Redskins in Week 16, and the fantasy matchup between Kirk Cousins and Sam Bradford could be a great indication of how this pivotal NFC East battle is going to play out....
The 16 games on the docket this weekend are the biggest of the year in the NFL, as there will surely be teams which have their seasons made and those who will enter 2016 having just been crushed....
When you think of playoff teams and division winners, you generally think of teams with great passing games. The Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals clearly don't fit in that category. There isn't a slew of confidence in either quarterback situation at this point heading into the biggest game of the year for both teams on Monday Night Football in Week 16....
The 2015 regular season can be wrapped up in a nice, neat package for the Cincinnati Bengals if they can pull off an upset on Monday Night Football. They'll have a first round bye wrapped up in the playoffs in the AFC and know they don't have another meaningful game for three weeks. Even if they lose, they still have a shot to lock up that bye next week with a win in Week 17 against Baltimore....
The Pittsburgh Steelers have only suffered a handful of losses this year, but one of those five came at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens. You can bet that the Steelers will be looking for their vengeance in this game on the road in Baltimore, and Antonio Brown and Ben Roethlisberger are sure to be a big part of it....
Even though the Baltimore Ravens haven't been truly competitive this season, they do have one massive win on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers. That's really the only reason why Pittsburgh is down and out in the AFC North chase. That said, the Steelers have a shot at some revenge on Sunday with the return game in Baltimore in a game which likely must be won to have a shot to get into the playoffs as an AFC Wild Card....
It’s lining up to be a tight finish in the AFC and the Chiefs are right in the middle of the scrum. How tight, you ask? Well, Kansas City currently has the inside track on the first wild card spot. The Chiefs are also within striking distance of the AFC West title, but a stumble can have them outside the playoff picture. A game against the moribund Browns is one they need to have....
The Redskins finally gave the NFC East one team without a losing record, taking over first place with a win last week to improve to 7-7 SU and ATS. As bad as the division has been all year, at least the champion will be decided by the teams involved in the mess. Washington can clinch the title Sunday with a win over Philadelphia. The Eagles are still in the hunt and must win to keep the dream alive....
The AFC West has an interesting mix of young and old quarterbacks. Peyton Manning, Alex Smith and Philip Rivers all represent the aging veterans who are on their way out. Derek Carr and Brock Osweiler represent all that's hip and new. Carr and Rivers are going to be matched up against each other on the field in the final Thursday Night Football game of the season, as the Oakland Raiders take on the San Diego Chargers....
The Washington Redskins were the biggest underdogs to win the NFC East this season, but they're one win away from locking up their spot in the playoffs. They're underdogs on Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles though, in what will feel a lot like a playoff game in the City of Brotherly Love....
