The European Tour has a new event this week, as players head to Belgium for the Belgian Knockout. The tournament will look the same as other European Tour events for the first two rounds, but the final two rounds will have a different look. It is strokeplay for the first 36 holes and then the top 64 players will go head-to-head over the weekend in strokeplay matches that consist of nine holes. Let’s look at the odds and predictions for the Belgian Knockout.

Odds Analysis
Joost Luiten +3100
You can make a good case for Luiten this week, as he is really looking to make the Ryder Cup and another win just might get him on the team. He won in Oman and he has been a consistent finisher in the Top 25 pretty much all year. He also has previous experience playing at Rinkven when he finished in a tie for 4th in 2005.
Thomas Pieters +3100
One of the local favorites will be Pieters but he hasn’t played well of late and he will be facing a lot of pressure to do well in front of his home fans. Maybe everything comes together and he has a big week, but I am not taking him.
Jorge Campillo +3400
It should only be a matter of time for Campillo to get his first win. He has four top five finishes in his last five starts. He has a very good all-around game and I think he could win this week.
Adrian Otaegui +4100
Otaegui finished second in China last time out and he has five straight top 20 finishes. He has played well in Belgium in the past with a 12th place finish on the Challenge Tour. He definitely has some value at these odds.
Jordan Smith +4100
It has been a tough season for Smith, but he has shown signs of turning the corner including a top three in China last time out. He tied for 12th in Belgium on the Challenge Tour three years ago.
Andrea Pavan +4400
I think Pavan has a ton of value at these odds. He has finished tied for 21st or better in seven of his last eight starts. He hits a ton of green and putts really well. There is no reason to think he can’t contend this week.
Course: Rinkven opened in 1981. It was renovated about 10 years ago and features a mix of trees and water. The course hosted the Telenet Trophy in 2010 on the Challenge Tour. It was a par 72 that year and measured 6,622 yards. This year the course will be longer but still a par 72 with three par 5’s. The tournament will have a similar look to the Alfred Dunhill Cup which took place from 1985-2000.
