Thomas Pieters is favored to win the D+D Real Czech Masters this week on the European Tour. This event goes up against the start of the FedExCup Playoffs in the United States, so the field is extremely weak. Pieters is listed as the favorite at odds of +700 and then it is Eddie Pepperell listed at odds of +1800. The field is so poor that Danny Willett is actually the co-third choice in the betting odds at +2500. Let’s look at the odds and predictions for the D+D Real Czech Masters.

Odds Analysis
Thomas Pieters +700
The field is so poor this week that Pieters definitely stands out. He won this event in 2015 and finished second in 2016. He has moved up to 22nd in the Race to Dubai and he is playing well of late with a tie for 6th in the Scottish Open and a tie for 6th at the PGA Championship.
Eddie Pepperell +1800
Eddie is 16th in the Race to Dubai rakings. He is playing for a spot on the Ryder Cup team and he has played well at this venue in the past with top five finishes in 2014 and 2017.
Danny Willett +2500
Willett has played a little better lately, so you can actually make a case for him at these odds. He tied for 6th at the Italian Open, tied for 6th at the Irish Open and he played well at the Scottish and at the Open. I probably won’t take him, but he is at least worth considering and that is something we haven’t been able to say in a while.
Dean Burmester +2500
If Pieters doesn’t win, I think the best option is to take Burmester. He is 28th on the European Tour in Par 5 scoring and he is coming off a tie for 9th at the Scottish Open. He tied for 14th in this tournament last year.
Haydn Porteous +4000
I think the defending champion is worth a shot at these odds. He played well in the Nordea Masters last week with a tie for 6th and I think he has a chance to win this week against one of the weaker European Tour fields of the year.
Lee Slattery +4000
My other longshot is Slattery who finished second to Porteous in this event a year ago. He tied for 10th at the Nordea Masters last season. Why not another good effort this week?
Course: The Albatross Golf Resort is long, as it measures 7,467 yards and is a par 72. Winners of this event have done well on the par 5’s in the past. The first two winners of this tournament were the best in Par 5 scoring for the week. There was a change made on the course for this year, as the 18th hole will be more difficult with the green moved closer to the lake.
