It is not often that a European Tour event has bigger names than a PGA Tour event, but that is the case this week, as the Sky Sports British Masters boasts a field that includes Justin Rose, Francesco Molinari and Tommy Fleetwood, while the PGA Tour event in Malaysia features Justin Thomas. Rose is ranked No. 2 in the world, Molinari is ranked No. 6 and Fleetwood is ranked No. 11. Let’s look at the odds and predictions for the Sky Sports British Masters.

Odds Analysis
Justin Rose +700
Rose picked this course so he should play well on it. He went 2-2 at the Ryder Cup and was really good in his three previous tournaments, finishing 2nd, 2nd and 4th. The only concern is that the host of the British Masters has finished in a tie for 15th, missed the cut and finished in a tie for 33rd the last three years. Rose is a far better player than Lee Westwood, Luke Donald or Ian Poulter, but host duties can be taxing on a player.
Francesco Molinari +900
I think you can make a strong case for Molinari this week. He was great the Ryder Cup and he has played well in this area in the past, winning at Wentworth. I would prefer more value than +900, but Molinari is a solid choice.
Tommy Fleetwood +1000
Fleetwood was great at the Ryder Cup and he finished second in last week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. He is definitely in fine form and he could be right with Molinari for the win this week.
Matthew Fitzpatrick +2500
The value pick this week is Fitzpatrick, as he is +2500, while the top three are basically single digits. He won this event in 2015 and he tied for 11th last year. He has played well in front of his home fans before and it would not be a surprise if he contended this week.
Shane Lowry +2500
I know that Lowry missed the cut last week, but he led U.S. Open qualifying on this course in 2014. He has played well in the past in England and he could contend this week.
Thorbjorn Olesen +3000
I am somewhat surprised the odds on Olesen are this high. He was really good at the Ryder Cup and he took last week off to get ready for this event. He has played Walton Heath in the past, as he did well in qualifying for the U.S. Open in 2016 on this course.
Matt Wallace +4000
My longshot this week is Wallace who has won three times this season. He led after the first round last week but then faded. He has played Walton Heath well in the past in U.S. Open qualifying, so he should feel comfortable on this course.
Course: Justin Rose is the host for this event and he chose Walton Heath for the course for this tournament. Walton Heath was founded in 1903 and it hosted the Ryder Cup in 1981. The course is listed at 7,394 yards and is a par 72. It has three par 5’s and three par 3’s.
