LIV Golf Adelaide Matchups Odds

Spanning the globe in its brief history, LIV Golf makes it first trip down under with a full field of 48 players teeing off for the LIV Golf Adelaide event in South Australia. All 18 golfers who competed in the Masters are set to peg it up with Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson and Patrick Reed looking to build off their top-4 finishes at Augusta. Koepka faltered in the final round blowing a lead and settling for runner-up honors along with Lefty, but it’s been a good recent run for him after becoming the first two-time winner on the LIV tour with a triumph in Orlando. Recent form propelled Koepka to the top of the outright odds board putting him second behind Aussie Cameron Smith. The two are also featured in one of the numerous tournament matchups available to wager on. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete updated list of matchup betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Need to Know

The Grange Golf Club serves as host this week with a majority of the field getting a first look at the tidy layout. Two championship courses rest on the property with a composite of both making up the layout. Essentially the back nine of each course will be used with the exception of one hole. In all, the total yardage is less than 7,000 giving bangers a week off. Accuracy off the tee with tight tree-lined fairways is important as is strong iron play and, of course, putting. The club hosted the 2016 and 2019 Women’s Australian Open with winners scoring 16- and 17- under across 72 holes. LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman won his first professional tournament at this venue in 1976 and had input on the design of the course. While the course is short by pro standards, it does have plenty of bunkers serving as a defense.

LIV Golf Adelaide Matchup Picks

Patrick Reed -115 vs. Mito Pereira

Quietly sneaking up on the field, it looks like Reed is ready for a breakthrough after two stellar outings. It started last month in Orlando with three straight rounds of 67 earning him a top 5 finish. That carried over to Augusta where he finished T4 carding 7-under. I also backed Reed in the outright since the course appears to be a good fit for his game, and his game is in a good place right now.

Matthew Wolff -115 vs. Peter Uihlein

Wolff has been consistent all season and one of the best putters in LIV Golf if you look at the metrics. There’s always more to the game than just one area and Wolff has yet to put it all together. But the talent is there and he hasn’t been far off with three finishes of 12th or better this season. His best was in Orlando with three rounds of 68 or lower earning him a top 5.

Abraham Ancer -115 vs. Paul Casey

We have yet to see the player most expected when Ancer was on the verge of superstardom before moving to LIV Golf. Not that he’s been bad rather the bar was set extremely high. And we’ve seen glimpses of what he can do in the last two tournaments with a round of 66 in Tucson and Orlando whetting the appetite. The reason I backed Ancer in this matchup is past success in Australia with a win at the 2018 Aussie Open. That’s good enough for me.

Bernd Wiesberger -101 vs. Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra

I can hear the questions now about why I’m backing Wiesberger in this matchup. Sometimes you have to play a hunch and I won a good amount backing him a few years ago on the European Tour. I haven’t gone back to the well often and there’s really no reason to do so now with no finish better than 36th this season. However, in Orlando Wiesberger closed with his best two rounds of the season, which is a start.

Branden Grace -130 vs. Marc Leishman

I don’t like to go with favorites priced too high and Grace is reaching that point, but recent form is a reason why. And it’s also the reason why I’m backing him in this matchup. Leishman might have the advantage of a home game, but Grace has been one of the most consistent players placing among the top 15 in six of his nine career starts. He won in Portland last year and was third in Mayakoba to start this season.
