With the four-tournament swing through the U.S. complete, LIV Golf Invitational Thailand begins the first set of events in consecutive weeks. The three-day event starts Oct. 7 from the exclusive new Stonehill Golf Club in Bangkok featuring a 48-man field, no cut and a shotgun start. More than halfway through the first season, the Saudi-backed league has had a good start with big name players winning the most recent stops. Dustin Johnson prevailed in a playoff in Boston while Cameron Smith’s three-shot win in Chicago was the biggest in the Series so far. The two sit atop the outright odds board and are featured in tournament matchups. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete list of matchup betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Need to Know
One of the top US Amateurs before signing with LIV, David Puig is replaced by Hideto Tanihara as the only change to the field from Chicago. Making its first trip to Asia LIV Golf overtakes Stonehill Golf Club, located just outside Bangkok. Since the 7,591-yard, par-71 course opened in June, we don’t know much about the layout. However, the rolling terrain has already become a trademark. It’s a sprawling track with generous fairways and few hazards giving plenty of reasons for big hitters to thrive. There are a fair amount of sand traps and a man-made stream winds through the property coming into play on nearly half the holes offering some defense. The remaining schedule picks up with LIV Golf playing consecutive weeks for the first time. The Series heads to Saudi Arabia next with the season-ending team championship played at Trump National Doral near Miami at the end of the month. I’ve had success on matchups winning four of five in Chicago and going 12-3 over the last three tournaments and look to continue that heater.
LIV Golf Invitational Thailand Matchup Picks
Peter Uihlein -123 vs. Marc Leishman
We don’t have as many matchups to choose from based on the small field size so a little extra work is needed to make sure my picks turn out in my favor. That being said, I think there’s something to actually playing competitive golf in between LIV events and doing that well is a bonus. Uihlein took swings last week on the DP Tour finishing T10 in the Alfred Dunhill Championship going 68 or lower in three rounds. Uihlein also had his best LIV finish last time out in Chicago finishing as runner-up to Smith.
Bryson Dechambeau -126 vs. Brooks Koepka
Two of the game’s biggest names are locked in a head to head once again and I’m going the same route I did in Chicago. It’s been a struggle for Koepka, who hasn’t come close to sniffing a LIV title, but we know what he can do. I backed DeChambeau on the beefy Rich Harvest Farms layout and he didn’t disappoint earning a top-10 and getting me a matchup win. So, I’m going back to him to take advantage of a course that plays to big hitters. Bryson got a little more expensive, but he’s worth the risk.
Matthew Wolff -113 vs. Charles Howell III
I like Wolff and he hasn’t disappointed me with a couple of matchup wins this season. I backed him in Chicago and despite having his worst finish in four starts he still got me the victory, so like with DeChambeau I’m going to pay him another visit. The thing about Wolff is his consistency spanning his time on the PGA Tour to LIV Golf. He has yet to put it all together, but he’s been good in nearly every aspect of his game making him a worthy pick.
Cameron Smith -114 vs. Joaquin Niemann
The only thing that can deter Smith is complacency. Somehow I don’t think getting a win and the prize money that goes along with it are going to slow him down. The remarkable year continued for the Aussie in Chicago with a 3-shot victory the largest in any LIV event. It was also his fourth title after winning three times on the PGA Tour, including the 150th Open Championship in July. He’s on a roll and I’ll continue to back him until he’s not.
Henrik Stenson +115 vs. Charl Schwartzel
I haven’t heard of anything physically wrong with Stenson but he has been going through some issues with the Swedish Golf Federation cutting ties due to his participation in LIV Golf. What’s that old saying about stones and glass houses? Anyway, problems back home were certainly a factor in his recent play with a WD and 30th following his win at Bedminster. Those issues are far from resolved, but there is more clarity now and Stenson can get back to playing golf. And he has value at plus-odds as long as he’s focused.
