Just over one year ago LIV Golf made its debut on the sports landscape with bundles of cash to tournament winners. To mark the occasion, the field returns to the scene of the first-ever tournament for LIV Golf London, taking place at the iconic Centurion Club. Carl Schwartzel led a contingent of South African players earning the initial $4 million payday while also teaming with fellow countrymen to win the team event. He hasn’t come close to winning a second time, though. One player winning a lot is Talor Gooch, who claimed the title at Valderrama last week, his third in the last five tournaments. Though Gooch has more wins than anyone in the brief history of the league, we see the same names at the top of the outright odds board with Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith, Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson the top four favorites. And all are featured in matchups for the ninth tournament of the season. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete updated list of matchup betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Need to Know
For the first time LIV golfers will see a course for the second time and little has changed on the 7,068-yard, par-71 Centurion Club. The inaugural event took place last June with Schwartzel opening with a tournament-low 65 to seize the lead. He never relinquished the top spot despite a closing 72. He was the only player with two rounds of 66 or better winning by one stroke. While the course isn’t long it does give the field a stiff test, similar to what everyone dealt with last week at Valderrama. In the 2022 event only eight in the 48-man field finished 54 holes under par. The field is a bit different from the first visit and I expect scores will plummet. Other than a makeover on two holes players who competed last year will see much of the same. There are around 80 bunkers littered throughout the property and four water hazards serve as a defense. Compared to Valderrama the track is open allowing for big hitters to unleash off the tee.
LIV Golf London Matchup Picks
Louis Oosthuizen +107 vs. Dean Burmester
We have yet to see the best of Oosthuizen and the time is coming. One of his better showings as a LIVer came in London last year when he finished the individual portion in 12th helping his mates capture the team title. And I still can’t forget the run he had a few years ago with a pair of runners-up and third in the majors. He hasn’t become a bad golfer instead he just needs a boost of confidence and this is a place that can provide it.
Jason Kokrak -126 vs. Charles Howell III
It’s hard to ignore a matchup featuring a guy that’s finished among the top 12 in his last five completed starts. Kokrak’s run started in Orlando and included four straight top 12s until a WD at the DC tournament. He appears to be recovered from whatever shelved him by finishing sixth at Valderrama even though he was 3-over in the middle round.
Patrick Reed +124 vs. Mito Pereira
Other than a stubbed toe in DC where he finished 39th, Reed has been spectacularly consistent with three top 5s among five top 15s over the previous six starts. He also performed well in the majors with a T4 at Augusta followed by a top 20 at the PGA Championship. His strong short game will help this week and at his price he’s too good to pass up. So I didn’t.
Bryson DeChambeau -109 vs. Talor Gooch
Still looking for that first big payday in the League, DeChambeau has been close several times, but none closer than last week’s runner-up showing at Valderrama. And it just so happens that this matchup is against the guy Bryson lost to. It’s hard to win every week but Gooch is doing his best, however the field will catch up with him and DeChambeau is one of the few playing well enough to overtake his opponent.
Cam Smith -114 vs. Dustin Johnson
Smith wasn’t around when LIV played Centurion Club last year making his debut a few tournaments later. Admittedly off to a slow start this year, Smith has been playing better with a T9 at the PGA Championship and solo fourth at the U.S. Open to go along with five straight top 12s in LIV. With The Open a few weeks away and Smith likely among the favorites, working on his game is that much more important and gives him an edge in this matchup with DJ.
