Germany is pretty much on easy street at this point. Three points against Northern Ireland seems like a given, and barring a crazy Poland victory over Ukraine in a match running concurrently, those three points will be enough to win Group C.... 

The first team eliminated from Euro 2016 is Ukraine. The team has nothing left to play for but pride at this point, and that's why Poland is an odds-on favorite to take the three points which would guarantee at least a second place finish in Group C.... 

England and Slovakia have met three times on the pitch, and the Three Lions have won all three matches. They don't necessarily need to win in the Group B finally at Euro 2016, but it would help assure a first place finish in the group and a matchup with a third place team in the Round of 16.... 

The fans in France won't be overly thrilled with the difficulty the team has had in getting its first six points on Euro 2016, but it's tough to argue with the end results. Les Bleus have taken the maximum share of the spoils from each of their group stage matches, and they'll look to make it a perfect 3-for-3 against Switzerland to wrap up Group A play on Sunday night.... 

Romania and Albania always knew their hopes for qualifying for the Round of 16 in Euro 2016 were going to come down to this. Both teams have been disappointing in their opening two fixtures in France, and the only way either one will have a shot to get out of this group is with a win against the other on Sunday night in Lyon.... 

Hungary and Iceland both pulled off fantastic results from their opening matches in Euro 2016 against all odds. The two now match wits with one another in what could be a crucial Group F match now that both teams firmly believe they have a shot to get into the Round of 16....

Austria knows that it's in a heck of a lot of trouble in Euro 2016. Group F once looked like a winnable group if it could get a result against Portugal, but after dropping 2-0 to Hungary in the first match, a loss here in the second duel against Portugal could ultimately see it eliminated from the tournament if the result is bad enough and Iceland beats Hungary earlier in the day.... 

Only one team made it through the group stage of Copa America Centenario without a blemish, and not surprisingly, it was the favorite to win the whole thing. Argentina looks like the most dangerous side in this field, and virtually no one believes Venezuela will provide any challenge whatsoever in the tournament's quarterfinal stage.... 

Maybe Colombia knew what it was doing the whole time. Even though it was beaten by Costa Rica in its last group stage match to finish behind the United States in Group A, it got the last laugh, drawing a significantly easier test in the quarterfinals against Peru than the U.S. will have against Ecuador.... 

The United States couldn't have asked more than this. The Americans got off to a shaky start to the tournament by losing to Colombia, but they ultimately won Group A and have earned the right to play in one of the most soccer-crazy cities in the nation in Seattle in the quarterfinals. Ecuador though, is a stout opponent, and this match in the last eight surely won't be a walk in the park.... 

Poland made a name for itself in qualifying for Euro 2016 by knocking off Germany at home in what has become a famous victory. Now, if it can figure out how to pull off a triumph over its arch rival in the second match in Group C, it will be on to the Round of 16 in Euro 2016.... 

Playing in its first major tournament in 20 years, Northern Ireland looked quite overmatched against Poland on Sunday in Nice. The Green and White Army has a lot of work ahead of it now in what basically is going to be a must-win match for both them and Ukraine on Thursday.... 

Wales and England have been 101 times on the pitch in their respective histories, and to say that it's been basically all one-way traffic would be an understatement. The Three Lions are 66-21-14 all-time against their fellow UK mates, and they're +155 in goal differential in those matches. Few fixtures between these two though, have been as important as the Group B clash in Lens coming up on Thursday morning.... 

Nerves really looked like they were an issue for the full 90 minutes for Albania in its first ever match in the Euros. The Red and Blacks had their chances against Switzerland, but they made just far too many mistakes on both sides of the pitch and didn't deserve any points. They can't be eliminated on Wednesday against France, but a bad loss will see them out of the field. The French meanwhile, will be hoping for three more points to secure at least a second place finish in Group A, and potentially the group title as well.... 

The clock is starting to tick for Romania in Euro 2016. A team which had high hopes of at least getting into the knockout rounds really only has 180 minutes to amass at least three, if not at least four points to get the job done. This match against Switzerland won't be easy, but it will almost certainly end up being the difference between who finishes second and who finishes third in Group A.... 

After Russia was able to leave it late against England in the last of the Group B matches, it was pretty clear that this foursome is going to be brutal throughout. It's "Moving Day" for sure in this group on Wednesday for both Russia and Slovakia, and a failure to get points from either side could effectively eliminate either one from this tournament.... 

The fates for Argentina and Bolivia are already settled in Group D, so don't be surprised if the final match the two will play in the group stage looks more like a friendly than a competitive fixture.... 

The Brazilian soccer team has officially woken up. After a dull scoreless draw against Ecuador to open this tournament, they snared three points from Haiti in fine fashion. Now, a draw versus Peru will do to get the South American giants through to the knockout rounds of Copa America.... 

Most American soccer fans woke up on Tuesday morning thinking that the sky was falling. The team had been beaten by Colombia soundly, and a loss to Costa Rica would make the host nation the very first to bow out of the tournament. With the news that Jurgen Klinsmann was going to trot out the same Starting XI he used in the opening Copa America match versus the Ticos, many assumed that disaster was pending.... 

It's not all that shocking that both Bolivia and Chile are in big holes after just 90 minutes of play in Copa America. Both were relatively big underdogs in their opening matches, and neither one really put up all that much of a fight. Now, the only shot either one has of advancing in this tournament comes down to Friday night in Boston, and only a win for either team will likely be good enough to realistically keep either side in the hunt in Group D.... 

Assuming that Bolivia doesn't pull off the shocker of all shocks against Chile earlier in the day, Argentina can clinch a spot in the quarterfinals of Copa America and effectively claim its spot as the Group D winner if it can take care of business in what should be a relatively easy match with Panama in Chicago.... 

Robert Lewandowski is one of the biggest names in Euro 2016. It's just too bad that he doesn't play on an elite level team. Poland has had some nice results largely thanks to him along the road to Euro 2016, but he's going to be needed more than ever in the first match in this tournament against Northern Ireland.... 

Mexico couldn't have asked for a much better start to its Copa America campaign. The hardest of the three matches is now past it with three points secured against Uruguay, and there's a clear path to the Group C win with the maximum nine points. Thursday's fixture against Jamaica shouldn't be all that difficult, though the Reggae Boyz know they need to pull off a shocker here to have any chance of staying in this tournament.... 

Irish eyes definitely weren't smiling on either the Republic of Ireland or Sweden when the draw came out for Euro 2016. These two teams both hated to be matched up with one another, but they certainly had a disdain for sharing a group with both Belgium and Italy as well. Even though both of these sides should be going for broke to get a win knowing that three points is very likely enough to get through to the Round of 16 of this tournament, caution could be thrown to the wind, knowing that neither one wants to effectively be eliminated from this field after just 90 minutes, something that a loss would almost surely do....
