Liverpool know they need to keep winning if they are going to surpass Manchester City once more. Although the Reds are ahead in the table, they have played one less game than the Citizens, and they can’t drop points. This Sunday, Liverpool will face their last fellow Big Six team on their schedule when they take on Chelsea. The Blues have earned a result in both their previous matches with Liverpool this season, so Jurgen Klopp knows the task at hand.

Odds Analysis
Chelsea are right in the middle of one of the tightest Champions League races we have seen. The Blues are currently in third place in the Premier League table, but they have played one more game than Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Manchester United, and they would currently lose out on a Champions League spot if Spurs and Arsenal won out and the goals stayed level. A loss to Everton just before the international break dinged their chances, but Chelsea have responded since then with wins over Cardiff City, Brighton, and West Ham.
Too many draws led to Liverpool falling behind City in the table, and they have been sure to get wins to keep pace with the defending champions. The Reds have won four straight matches in league play, defeating Burnley, Fulham, Tottenham, and Southampton. They are in great position in the Champions League after a 2-0 win over Porto in the first leg of their tie, so they don’t have to worry about that competition as much as other teams.
Liverpool are looking for their first win over Chelsea this season. These sides met twice in late September with Emerson and Eden Hazard scoring late to lead Chelsea over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, and Daniel Sturridge equalized late to salvage a draw for ‘Pool a few days later.
Key Injuries
Neither side has many injuries to deal with coming into this match. Marco van Ginkel and Ethan Ampadu are both long-term injuries for the side of Chelsea, while Liverpool are likely to be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana.
Player to Watch
Eden Hazard has been the saving grace for Chelsea throughout the season. The Blues would be a middle of the table team without him in the lineup, and his brilliance was on full display last week against West Ham. He scored both of Chelsea’s goals in a 2-0 win, and he has netted in both games against Liverpool this season. Hazard’s 16 goals are just three behind the league leader, and his 12 assists are tops in the Premier League.
Prop Bet – Liverpool -1 +108
Chelsea have won four straight matches in all competitions, but they have been far from impressive. They needed late goals to beat minnows Cardiff City and Slavia Prague, and they played in the Czech capital on Thursday, while Liverpool’s European match was at home two days earlier. That will give Liverpool a nice advantage in terms of fresh legs, and that’s big considering Chelsea’s depth has been suspect.
Free Soccer Betting Pick
Liverpool have far more offensive options than Chelsea. The Reds look like something of a chosen team with so many late goals to win matches, but I think they will show their class earlier here. They will do what they need to do in order to slow down Hazard, and Liverpool will pick up the win.
English Premier League Odds: Liverpool 3, Chelsea 1
