EPL Betting Odds

This is a huge match for Chelsea. The Blues did what they needed to do in the Europa League and are on to the quarterfinals of that competition, and now they are looking to move back into the top four in the Premier League. Chelsea have been battling for a spot in the top four and a return to the Champions League all year long, and a win over Everton in Goodison Park this Sunday would keep them in the hunt. A loss would leave them in sixth and might leave Maurizio Sarri on his way out at Stamford Bridge.

Odds Analysis

Everton have had an up and down season. The Toffees continue to remain slotted somewhere in the middle of the table with no hope of seeing Europe, and they have given their supporters some heartbreaking results. The Men in Blazers joke about the constant disappointment Everton fans are made to endure, and they surely felt it last weekend. It looked like they had three points all locked up on the road against Newcastle after going up 2-0, but they allowed the Magpies to score three in the final third and lost 3-2.

The Blues cruised in their Europa League clash with Dynamo Kyiv, and they got another great draw by being matched against Slavia Prague in the quarterfinals. For now though, Chelsea will turn their attention back to the Premier League. They have played one less match than the other teams in the top six, and they are three points behind Arsenal for fourth. A win would tie them with the Gunners, but they need to make up five goals to actually move ahead. Chelsea had knocked off Tottenham and Fulham in league play before needing a late Eden Hazard goal to draw Wolves last week.

The first match between these two sides ended in a 0-0 draw. Chelsea dominated possession and had more shots and shots on goal but couldn’t break through.

Key Injuries

Kurt Zouma will be unavailable to be one of Everton’s center backs in this match as he has been recalled to international duty, and Phil Jagielka is unlikely to play due to a knock. Leighton Baines is probable to play after missing last week with a lower back injury, and Seamus Coleman is set to return.

Marco van Ginkel remains out for Chelsea with an ACL injury, while Gonzalo Higuain is doubtful to play because of a knock.

Player to Watch

This is probably Eden Hazard’s last year at Chelsea. It’s looking increasingly unlikely that the club will be able to re-sign their best player, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. Hazard has been very sharp for Chelsea this season, and he has come up big when needed like he did against Wolves last week.

Prop Bet – Everton Clean Sheet +329

The Toffees have a knack for holding the line against some of the best teams in the Premier League. They nearly held Liverpool scoreless in both instances of the Merseyside Derby this year, and they have already held Chelsea under wraps at Stamford Bridge.

Games like this are what keep Everton fans believing. The Toffees are in 11th place in the table and don’t have a ton to play for in terms of overall placement. The pressure will be off, and a Richarlison goal will provide the scoring they need in a narrow win.

English Premier League Odds: Everton 1, Chelsea 0
