Tottenham Hotspur were able to pick up a win over the Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League tie on Tuesday, but it may have cost Spurs tremendously in the long run. Harry Kane injured his ankle in the second half of the match, and it looks as if England’s skipper might be done for the remainder of the season. That would be an enormous loss as Spurs are right in the middle of an intense race to finish in the top four of the Premier League as well. Fortunately, they should be able to manage without him against last place Huddersfield Town this Saturday.

Odds Analysis
At this point, Huddersfield Town are playing for pride. The Terriers have already been relegated, but they can avoid finishing at the bottom of the table by catching Fulham in their final five matches. They aren’t the worst team in Premier League history (that ignominious honor goes to 2007-08 Derby County), but if they fail to get a point in their last five matches they will go down as the second-worst team in Premier League history.
Tottenham benefited greatly from Arsenal’s failure to beat Everton last weekend. The loss kept Spurs clinging to fourth place as the club has nosedived from their third place perch. They had lost four of five before finally getting another league victory, knocking off Crystal Palace 2-0 last Wednesday. They are a point ahead of Arsenal, and they can’t afford not to get three points against Huddersfield with the race so tight.
Spurs didn’t have much trouble beating Huddersfield on the road back in September. Harry Kane netted a brace in the first half, and Tottenham were content to stay behind the ball in a 2-0 win.
Key Injuries
Abdelhamid Sabiri and Adama Diakhaby are slated to miss this match for Huddersfield. The Terriers are hoping to have Demeaco Duhaney, Laurent Depoitre, and Philip Billing back in the lineup though. All three players are listed as probable.
Kane is the most high-profile absence on the side of Spurs, but Eric Dier and Erik Lamela will miss this match too. Serge Aurier is highly unlikely to play through a strained hamstring with City on the docket twice next week, while Dele Alli is listed as probable.
Player to Watch
Without Kane in the lineup, Spurs need to get offense from somewhere. The two players that tend to generate in his absence are Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen, and I believe Eriksen will have the bigger impact here. He is second in the EPL with 11 assists on the year, and he is largely the one directing the traffic in the midfield for Tottenham. Numerous clubs are out to sign him in the offseason, and he will prove why on Saturday.
Prop Bet – Huddersfield Town +1.5 +131
I think a letdown is to be expected on the side of Spurs. Tottenham have two more crucial matches against Manchester City in the next ten days, and this is a classic letdown, lookahead match. Spurs won’t be fully focused on lowly Huddersfield, but I don’t think it bites them.
Free Soccer Betting Pick
The Terriers won’t just roll over here. They have shown feistiness in recent losses, and they will give Tottenham more of a game than anyone thinks.
English Premier League Odds: Tottenham Hotspur 2, Huddersfield Town 1
