We’re in the final month of the Premier League campaign, and there will be a lot at stake in the Manchester Derby. Either Manchester City or Manchester United are going to have their hopes dashed at full time of Wednesday’s match. Manchester City need a win to stay ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League title race, and with the Reds having a very easy schedule the rest of the way, they can’t afford to drop points. Meanwhile, Manchester United are almost certainly Europa League bound if they can’t pick up a win here, as three points are the only way they can stay in contention for a Champions League spot.

Odds Analysis
Manchester City are no longer in contention for European honors, but they can still win the domestic treble. The Citizens have already locked down the Carabao Cup, and they are the frontrunners for both the league title and the FA Cup. They are two points behind Liverpool but have a game in hand on the Reds, and they got a little bit of revenge on Tottenham over the weekend after Spurs sent them crashing out of the Champions League. Phil Foden scored the game’s lone goal in a 1-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday.
For the first time since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as manager, Manchester United are doing a bit of soul searching. The Red Devils can’t seem to get over the sixth place hump even though they had a golden opportunity this weekend. They watched both Tottenham and Arsenal lose and could have moved up to fourth in the table, but instead they were hammered by Everton. The Toffees dominated them 4-0 at Goodison Park, leaving United two points behind Arsenal and Chelsea and three points behind Spurs with four games left in the season.
The first Manchester Derby of the season ended in a 3-1 win for the Citizens with David Silva, Sergio Aguero, and Ilkay Gundogan all scoring for City. Anthony Martial notched a penalty for United in a losing effort.
Key Injuries
Claudio Bravo is a long-term injury for Manchester City, while Kevin De Bruyne is injured for the third time this season. The young Foden might be the player Pep Guardiola picks to fill his place while he is out.
Antonio Valencia will miss this match for United, while Eric Bertrand Bailly is questionable with a head injury. Ander Herrera is probable to play despite a thigh injury, while Luke Shaw returns from a one-game suspension.
Player to Watch
Paul Pogba was abysmal in the midfield against Everton over the weekend, and that has led to renewed calls to sell United’s best player. Pogba has not performed well in recent weeks, and he has somewhat eschewed his role as a midfielder as he plays too far up the pitch. He will need to perform much better for United to get a result.
Prop Bet – Manchester City -1.5 at +115
I think this is going to be a rout. City are upset that the biggest prize they have to play for is the Premier League, and they know this is their last big test of the year. Games against Burnley, Leicester City, and Brighton are unlikely to be tough, and they will be out to trounce their biggest rival.
Free Soccer Betting Pick
Manchester United have lost six of their last eight in all competition, and I see City hammering them on Wednesday. This one won’t be close.
English Premier League Odds: Manchester City 4, Manchester United 1
