Manchester United are the only reason that Liverpool aren’t playing for immortality. The Red Devils are the only team in the Premier League to win a point off the Reds in league action, playing them to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford back on October 20. Liverpool have won their other 20 EPL games to hold a commanding 14-point lead on Manchester City more than halfway through the season, and they are set to smash the Citizens’ recent single season Premier League records. They can move closer to those marks and earn a spot of revenge on Sunday when the Reds host United at Anfield.

Odds Analysis
The Red Devils turned their season around after that draw with Liverpool. Manchester United’s board was considering firing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and starting anew, but that result gave them faith to stay the course, and the decision has paid off. They were in 14th place in the standings after that game, but United have since climbed to fifth place with a 7-3-3 record in their last 13 league matches. Manchester United are now just five points behind Chelsea for fourth place in the table.
Manchester United hammered Norwich City in Old Trafford last weekend. Marcus Rashford bagged a brace to notch his 13th and 14th goals this season, and Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood got in on the action in a 4-0 rout. That victory helped the Red Devils move ahead of Chelsea on goal differential, so they just need to catch the Blues in the standings.
What more can we say about Liverpool? The Reds are piecing together the best season in the history of the Premier League. They are 20-1-0 and set to cruise to their first Premier League title, and they have one of the stingiest defenses we have ever seen in England. Virgil van Dijk has been superb in the back line, and Alisson has held six straight opponents scoreless to keep Liverpool invincible.
Key Injuries
Injuries are going to play a huge factor in this game as Manchester United will be without at least one superstar. Midfielder Paul Pogba is sidelined until the end of the month with a foot injury, and Scott McTominay is out at least another month with a knee injury. Marcos Rojo could be back next week, but he will miss this match, and the same is true for Axel Tuanzebe and Luke Shaw. Rashford is questionable to play through a lower back injury, and his absence would be a huge loss as he is the team’s main threat up top. Eric Bertrand Bailly and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are also questionable.
The injury bug hasn’t bit Liverpool nearly as hard. Naby Keita, Nathaniel Clyne, and James Milner are going to be sidelined, but the key components of this team are slated to play. Fabio Tavares, Joel Matip, and Dejan Lovren are questionable though.
Matchup to Watch
It’s going to be very difficult for Manchester United to score on Liverpool with Pogba out and Rashford injured. The Red Devils don’t have a ton of weapons up top, and they are facing the best back line we have seen in the Premier League. Anthony Martial will likely to be asked to do much more, and Juan Mata could see some significant run too after a brilliant goal in United’s FA Cup win over Wolverhampton. It will take something special to beat Alisson.

Liverpool are content to keep winning low-scoring games. The Reds played a largely ball possession game and frustrated Tottenham in a victory last week, and I expect a similar result here.
English Premier League Odds: Liverpool 2, Manchester United 0
