Ladies and gentlemen, we have a title race. Manchester City dropped points for the first time all season last week against Chelsea, and they are now trailing Liverpool in the table. The Citizens are one point behind the Reds, and they are out to get back in front of Liverpool prior to Boxing Day. To do that, Manchester City will need to keep getting victories and hope that Liverpool drops points at some time over the next couple weeks. This week, City are out to grab a win over Everton.

Odds Analysis
Being a supporter of the Toffees has been tough over the past few weeks. Everton were in a good position in the table a few weeks ago, but they have fallen off the pace since that point. They have not gotten a win in Premier League play since the end of November when they defeated Cardiff City 1-0, and they suffered an agonizing defeat at Liverpool and a frustrating draw against Watford. The Toffees are sitting in seventh place coming into the weekend.
Manchester City won every Premier League match they had played since early October prior to last weekend. The Citizens were wrecking teams, and they were on pace to smash the records they had just set last season. However, they came down to Earth with a thud in their match against Chelsea. They couldn’t get a goal against the Blues last weekend, and now they are playing catch up.
Key Injuries
Everton might be without James McCarthy for this match. McCarthy is listed as questionable as he is recovering from an injury. Idrissa Gueye is considered doubtful to play as well. Gueye has been dealing with a groin injury, and it’s very unlikely he’ll play in the Etihad.
It’s a good thing that depth isn’t much of an issue for City. They are playing a midweek match against 1899 Hoffenheim this week, and they have a number of players that are injured. Eliaquim Mangala and Claudio Bravo are long-term injuries, while Danilo and Benjamin Mendy are expected to miss a significant amount of time too. David Silva will be out for the next few weeks, and Kevin de Bruyne is expected to miss the match too, further complicating matters. Sergio Aguero is questionable due to a groin injury, and Fernando is probable.
Player to Watch
Leroy Sane has been playing great over these last couple weeks. He has shined when called upon by Pep Guardiola, and Sane has continued to make Manchester City incredibly dangerous up top despite their injuries. He opened the scoring in their win against Watford, and he was great against 1899 Hoffenheim in midweek action. Sane grabbed a brace to lead City to a win despite the hosts having most of their starters out
Prop Bet of the Game – Manchester City to score in both halves -151
Manchester City are banged up, but this is a team that can score with the best of them. City have no shortage of attacking options, and players like Sane, Raheem Sterling, and Gabriel Jesus will relish this opportunity. I think City will put three or four on the board, and I like them to net on each side of the halftime whistle.

City are too good to fall too far back of Liverpool, especially when they know that the Reds face a challenge this week when they take on Manchester United. The Citizens were able to give a number of players rest during the middle of the week, and that will come in handy here.
English Premier League Odds: Manchester City 3, Everton 1
