Liverpool do not want to relinquish the lead they have built over their foes in the Premier League. One of the most successful clubs in the history of English football has yet to win a Premier League title, and they are looking to put an end to that streak. They currently have a four point lead over Manchester City in their race to end a domestic title for the first time in three decades, but they know they need to keep winning with City nipping at their heels. Liverpool are heavy favorites coming into Wednesday’s game against Leicester City.

Odds Analysis
Leicester City are on a three-match losing streak coming into this game. The Foxes crashed out of the FA Cup with a loss to lowly Newport County, and that loss seemed to stick with them. They followed that up with a home defeat at the hands of Southampton despite being up a man for the entire second half, and they followed that up with a loss to Wolves last weekend. That loss was particularly heartbreaking as they erased leads of 2-0 and 3-2, but a Jota goal three minutes into extra time left Leicester with a loss.
The Reds haven’t looked exceptionally sharp in 2019. They lost to Manchester City in their first match of the year, and they were sent out of the FA Cup by Wolves. Liverpool needed a Mo Salah penalty to get past Brighton a couple weeks ago, and they gave up three goals in a wild win over Crystal Palace in Anfield last week.
Key Injuries
Daniel Amartey continues to recover from foot surgery, and he is expected to be out for another five weeks. Amartey was sidelined in early November, so the club can’t wait to get him back. Meanwhile, Harry Maguire is listed as questionable after coming off early during last weekend’s loss to Wolves.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continues to be sidelined by a knee injury, but he looks like he could return in as soon as two months. Joe Gomez is out for another couple weeks due to a foot injury, while James Milner is out after picking up a red card last week. Trent Alexander-Arnold is doubtful due to a knee injury, while Georgino Wijnaldum, Fabio Tavares, and Dejan Lovren are all probable.
Player to Watch
Salah looks like the favorite to win the Golden Boot for the second straight year. He now has a two goal lead on the rest of the Premier League, and he is coming on strong right in the middle of the year. Salah scored Liverpool’s lone goal against Brighton and he notched a brace against Crystal Palace last week. His play is pivotal to Liverpool, and he will have songs sung about him forever if he leads them to their first EPL title.
Both Teams To Score +102
It looks like Liverpool might be shifting back to a team always on the attack. The Reds played a little more passively than we saw last year through the first half of the season, and that led to them focusing on their defense. In recent weeks, they have opened things up more, and I think that will lead to both teams finding the back of the net.

Leicester have defeated Chelsea and Manchester City in the last month, so the moment won’t be too big for them in Anfield. They will battle the Reds throughout, but Liverpool will eventually be too much. Look for the Foxes to score at least once though.
English Premier League Odds: Liverpool 2, Leicester City 1
