Liverpool won’t be able to lock up the Premier League title against archrival Everton this Sunday, but the Reds could be league champions on Monday. They are currently 22 points ahead of Manchester City with nine games left to play, so a victory on Sunday coupled with a City loss on Monday would give this club it’s long awaited title. Everton would love nothing more than to make Liverpool wait even longer to celebrate, and a victory here would be a bright spot on an otherwise dismal year.

Odds Analysis
Everton have been languishing in the middle of the table throughout the 2019-20 season. The Toffees are 10-7-12 with 37 points and a -9 goal differential, and that has them in 12th place. The good news is that most of their difficult matches will be over after Sunday. Prior to the three-month delay to the season due to the coronavirus, Everton played Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea in subsequent weekends.
The Toffees earned just one point from those three matches, drawing Manchester United in Goodison Park. Their only other remaining game against a Big Six club will be in early July against reeling Tottenham Hotspur. This team has been solid at home throughout the season, as the Toffees are 7-4-3 on their own pitch.
Liverpool can go down as the best team in Premier League history by the end of the season. They are on pace to surpass Manchester City’s 100 points in the 2017-18 campaign, as they already have 82 points thanks to a 27-1-1 record. The only two blemishes on their record came on the road against other Big Six clubs, as Liverpool drew Manchester United in Old Trafford back in October and lost to Chelsea 2-0 in Stamford Bridge right before the stoppage.
The Merseyside Derby has been dominated by Liverpool for the last decade. Everton’s last victory over Liverpool came back in October 2010, but the Toffees have claimed at least a point in 10 of the last 21 matches.
Key Injuries
Nathaniel Clyne won’t be available until next season due to an ACL injury that has kept him sidelined for this entire campaign, and Xherdan Shaqiri is unlikely to see the pitch again too. Adrian is doubtful to be available as a backup to Alisson, but there is good news for Liverpool on the injury front. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is back at 100 percent, and both Mo Salah and Andrew Robertson will be good to go after suffering knocks in training.
Cenk Tosun, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, and Yerry Mina will be out for the remainder of the season, and the latter two players suffered their injuries in training. Theo Walcott and Fabian Delph are both slated to miss this match, but Andre Gomes will be returning for Everton.
Matchup to Watch
There will be a little extra buzz whenever Richarlison has the ball. He decided to call out Virgil van Dijk on Friday, saying that he believes there are several defenders better than Liverpool’s stalwart center back. It’s a curious callout considering most observers believe that van Dijk is the most talented center back in the league, and Richarlison has not played great this season.
Free Soccer Betting Pick
The Reds might be a little bit rusty after so much time off, but they are far more talented than their city rivals and should get all three points.
Score Prediction: Liverpool FC 2, Everton FC 0
