The FA Cup and European soccer have wreaked havoc with the Premier League schedule, so we have a rather light weekend of action this week. Only one Big Six club will be playing over the weekend (Arsenal), but there are a few interesting games between teams in the middle of the table. There are less than two months left in the Premier League campaign, and teams are looking to finish the season on a high note.

The Magpies have looked pretty sharp over the last two months. They are 3-2-2 over that period, and one of the weakest offenses in the Premier League has found its footing. Salomon Rondon has been fantastic for Newcastle, and both he and Ayoze Perez have three goals in the Magpies’ last six matches. Their earlier match against Crystal Palace ended in a 0-0 draw, and they must feel like they can score this time around.
Crystal Palace have been solid against teams in the bottom half of the table this season. The Eagles have a number of multiple goal wins over the worst teams in England, and that’s why their goal differential is only -5 even though they are 13th in the table. I think these two teams are relatively even, and with the game in Newcastle, the draw is a solid bet.

How motivated will Huddersfield Town be at this point? The Terriers are the worst team in the Premier League since Derby County, and they have already been relegated with just 14 points. They have scored just 18 goals this season, but they did score in Leicester earlier this year. Huddersfield scored inside of five minutes before letting in three in response in a loss.
It hasn’t been the best year for the Foxes, but they have a shot at finishing as the best non-Big Six club in England, and that could lead to a spot in the Europa League. They have won three straight games coming into this match, knocking off Fulham, Burnley, and Bournemouth. Center back Harry Maguire is unavailable after getting a red card against Burnley.

The Clarets aren’t out of the woods just yet. Burnley are five points ahead of Cardiff City in their bid to avoid relegation, but the two sides meet next week and a Bluebirds win would put them in a precarious position. They can give themselves a bit of breathing room with a result in this game, and they had lost four in a row prior to this past weekend. Burnley secured a huge win against Wolves, and they needed that with their final four games coming against Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton, and Arsenal.
Bournemouth have been a delight. The Cherries are everything you want from a mid-table team with surprising results, thrilling games, and lots of offense. There have been 101 goals in Bournemouth’s 32 games, and the Cherries are out to avenge a 4-0 loss to Burnley in September.

Arsenal can move into third place and feel confident about their Champions League hopes with a win over Everton this Sunday. The Gunners have dominated the Toffees recently. They have won each of the last four meetings between these two clubs by multiple goals, and they have outscored Everton by a combined margin of 15-4. Arsenal have been very sharp on offense and have the third-most goals in the league.
Everton’s offense runs through two players, Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson. Those two have been responsible for most of their scoring this season, and if you stop them, you stop the Toffees. Arsenal have not been exceptionally sharp in defense, so these two could have a big game.
