Burnley and Newcastle United have the same exact record through the first 12 games of the season. Both teams are 2-3-7, but Newcastle United have the advantage on Burnley due to having a better goal differential. The Clarets have not been the same team that we saw last year. Burnley finished last year in seventh place, and that sent them into European competition for the first time in over 50 years. However, they are now just hoping to stay afloat.

Odds Analysis
It’s been an interesting year for Newcastle United. The Magpies came into the year with high expectations after acquiring a lot of talent in the offseason, but it took them a while to capitalize. They were in the relegation zone for much of the year, but they have recently lifted themselves out of the bottom three with some strong performances. Newcastle United are now on a three-match result streak, securing a draw on the road against Southampton and knocking off Watford and Bournemouth prior to the international break.
Burnley were unable to make it to the Europa League Group Stage, and their appearance in the early stages of the competition was a double whammy. The Clarets were unable to get off to a good start in the Premier League while they were trying to qualify for the Europa League Group Stage. They started off at the bottom of the table, and they have been unable to rise very high in the standings. However, they have started to perform better over the last few weeks. They are 2-2-3 in their last seven matches, and while that’s not good enough to compete for Europe, it’s enough to keep from getting relegated.
Key Injuries
There are a number of injuries for Burnley ahead of this match. Nick Pope and Stephen Ward have both been ruled out for this title, but James Tarkowski is listed as questionable and may be able to suit up. Ben Gibson is considered probable to play through a groin injury, while Johann Berg Gudmundsonn, and Steven Defour have both been cleared to return to action.
Florian Lejeune is a long-term injury for Newcastle United, while Jamie Sterry has also been ruled out for this match. Paul Dummett is listed as doubtful, while Yoshinori Muto, Jamaal Lascelles, and Jonjo Shelvey are all considered questionable.
Player to Watch
Ayoze Perez has finally broken into the scoring column. It’s been a very disappointing season for Perez, so getting a goal will hopefully light a fire under him. He was expected to finish with double-digit goals by some this year, so to see him with just one goal through 12 games is underwhelming. However, the pressure if off now, so Magpies fans are hoping that he can start to find his scoring touch.
Prop Bet of the Game – Over 2.5 Goals +137
Newcastle were always a team that was supposed to be one of the higher scoring sides in the Premier League, and it seems like they are finally starting to live up to it. They have played tight while they have floundered in the depths of the Premier League, but their recent turn upwards in form will lighten the load and help loosen them up. Burnley have really struggled in defense, and this one could have four or five goals pretty easily.

The over is a very good bet here, and I would take my chances with the Magpies too. They have been in good form lately, and Newcastle United will go for all three points.
