The goal for Arsenal in Unai Emery’s first year has been simple from the outset. Return to the Champions League. Arsenal are starting to get healthy right before the winter break. The Gunners will soon have center backs Laurent Koscielny and Konstantinos back in the lineup, but both players will miss this match. Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck will be out too. The club is hopeful that Alexandre Lacazette will be able to play though.
The injuries are starting to pile up with Tottenham. Spurs won’t have Vincent Janssen, Victor Wanyama, Davinson Sanchez, or Mousa Dembele available for this match. Kieran Trippier is listed as questionable because of a groin injury, while Erik Lamela is doubtful with a thigh injury.
Matchup to Watch
Last weekend, Tottenham ripped apart Chelsea on the counter, and they will look to do the same to Arsenal here. Although Spurs are banged up, their collection of superb midfielders and forwards is still intact, and they will look to wreak havoc against this back line.
