Tottenham Hotspur are loving life through the first three matches of the season. They have probably played the toughest schedule of any of the four undefeated teams, yet they are undefeated coming into their pivotal match against Watford this week. It’s been a dream start for Watford too this season. Watford were not expected to be undefeated through the first three games of the season, but the Hornets are tied with Tottenham, Liverpool, and Chelsea at the top of the table.

Odds Analysis
Tottenham have picked up right where they left off after an impressive 2017-18 campaign. Spurs had a bit of trouble defensively against Newcastle United in their first match, but they were able to pick up the victory regardless. In their second match, it took them a while to get going against Fulham, but eventually they grabbed a 3-1 win after Kieran Trippier and Harry Kane scored three minutes apart midway through the second half.
Spurs biggest win of the season thus far came on Monday night. Tottenham faced a tough test on the road at Old Trafford against a hungry Manchester United side that did not want to drop points yet again. United got the better of Spurs in the first half, but Tottenham withstood the attack and went into halftime tied 0-0. From there, it was all Tottenham. Harry Kane opened up the scoring with a header off of a corner kick in the 50th minute and Lucas Moura notched a brace to pick up the win for Spurs.
Watford have looked very sharp this season, with Roberto Pereyra and Troy Deeney forming a lethal combination up top. In the season opener, Pereyra scored twice to lift Watford to a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. Two weeks ago, it was Deeney that led the charge with a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win on the road against Burnley.
Last week, the Hornets grabbed a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace with Deeney and Pereyra each playing great. Pereyra scored the game’s first goal after having a few earlier near-misses, and Deeney was a constant threat throughout the match. These two give Watford a decent chance against Tottenham here.
Key Injuries
Tottenham will not have four players available for this match. Juan Marcos Foyth, Erik Lamela, and Vincent Janssen have all been sidelined due to injury. This will be Spurs last match without Son Heung-min though, as he will be playing in the finals of the Asian Games in Indonesia this weekend. Victor Wanyama is considered questionable to play due to a knee injury.
Younes Kaboul and Tom Cleverley will not be available for this match on the side of Watford, while Miguel Britos and Gerard Deulofeu are considered doubtful.
Player to Watch
Who says the International Champions Cup is a meaningless tournament? Following a very impressive performance in that competition, Mauricio Pochettino has made Lucas Moura a mainstay in Tottenham’s starting lineup. Moura has rewarded him with three goals in three matches, and he has paired well with Dele Alli and Harry Kane. Moura’s speed has given Spurs a new area of attack, and that will come in handy here.

This should be a fantastic match, and Watford have more than a decent chance of getting points here. However, I think Spurs will be too much in the end. Tottenham have been very dangerous on the attack, and although the defense has worried me some, they will have a better performance this week.
English Premier League Odds: Tottenham Hotspur 2, Watford 1
