The Madden NFL20 simulated season has reached the Thanksgiving portion of the schedule. That means it’s already Week 13! Makes sense considering the official 2020-21 NFL betting season kicks off on Thursday, September 10 in a rematch of the Division Round matchup between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs. The sim version of the Turkey Day matchups almost played out exactly as in real-time save for Dallas squashing Buffalo 24-0 this time around. The Bills scored a huge 26-15 upset win as near touchdown underdogs in real-time. Chicago destroyed Detroit 48-3 and New Orleans defeated Atlanta 30-24 in the sim matchups which mimicked both teams coming out on top of those matchups last season. The simulated season tournament will move forward into Week 14 immediately following the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks throw down in front of the 12th Man on Monday Night Football. The following is being offered up the week of August 31-6.
There’s a new leader atop the simulated season standings with the Green Bay Packers falling upon hard times over the last week. With the Cheeseheads dropping each of their last two matchups, the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints are now tied atop the standings at 9-3 overall. The Saints took advantage of the Bills shutout defeat to the Cowboys by taking care of business against the Falcons to pull even. But the Bills might not be there for much longer if the offense continues to struggle putting points on the board. That hasn’t been the case for the Saints who’ve scored a league-high 335 total points 27.9 PPG and backed it up with a defense giving up an average of just 18 points per game. The Ravens, Packers and Patriots all rank out behind the duo at 8-3. Other teams sporting .500 records heading into Week 13 include the Steelers/49ers/Cowboys 7-4, Falcons/Bears 7-5, and Panthers/Texans/Colts/Raiders/Rams/Vikings/Seahawks/Bucs 6-5.
The Bengals, Browns and Washington have managed just two wins apiece with the trio being outscored by a whopping total of 254 points!
Betting lines and totals for most of Week 13’s matchups include Browns/Steelers -3, 39.5, Redskins/Panthers -4.5, 38.5, Buccaneers/Jaguars +3, 43, 49ers/Ravens -3, 43.5, Rams/Cardinals +4, 37.5, Chargers/Broncos +4.5, 38, Raiders/Chiefs -7, 47 and Patriots/Texans -3, 42.5.Betting lines for the matchup between the Vikings and Seahawks will hit the board in short order, and you can expect to see the Week 14 lines open soon after.

The Cowboys current odds to win this whole darn thing remain at +320 followed by the Patriots +700, Ravens +800, Saints +825, Vikings +1200, 49ers +1500, Texans +1800 and Chiefs +2000. Teams currently in line for playoff berths that oddsmakers still aren’t buying into include the Steelers +2800, Bills/Panthers +3000, and Colts/Falcons +5000. The Ravens remain the +220 frontrunners to win the AFC followed by the Patriots +275, Texans +600, Chiefs +750, Steelers +950 and Bills +1000. The Cowboys odds to win the NFC remain at +225 followed by the Packers +275, Saints +450, 49ers +750, Vikings +800, and Eagles +1100 and Panthers +1600.
Futures odds liability finds the Vikings, Seahawks, Chargers and Cowboys taking in a majority of the sim Super Bowl action. The Packers, Vikings, Cowboys and Seahawks have been the handle hogs in the NFC, while the Steelers represent the only AFC team getting any kind of attention from sim season futures bettors. For one reason or another, public bettors continue to back the NFC teams and fade the AFC.
