The first month of the Madden NFL20 simulated season will be in the books on Monday once the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals close it out with a reenactment of last season’s matchup on Monday Night Football. So far the sim season tourney has played out similarly to what actually went down over the course of the 2019 NFL betting season; save for two glaring differences. Them being the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and AFC runner-up Tennessee Titans getting out to a combined 1-7 SU start! The biggest surprise through four weeks has been the Detroit Lions who check in 3-1 overall after dropping the season opener at Arizona; Matt Patricia’s squad is no doubt feeling great heading into the team’s scheduled bye. Week 4 of the 2019 sim season kicked off on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field where the Green Bay Packers handed the Philadelphia Eagles a 27-20 defeat. Though the game once again combined for a high scorer, it played out much differently than in real-time after the Eagles scored the 34-27 outright win and cover as 3.5-point underdogs. Other Week 4 winners included the Falcons, Lions, Colts, Dolphins, Giants, Ravens, Panthers, Buccaneers, Seahawks, Bears and Broncos. At the time of this writing, the Saints held a 14-3 lead over the Dallas Cowboys with 8+ minutes remaining in the second quarter. Dallas has been the team to beat in the game sim realm, so it will be interesting to see if Drew Brees and company can see it all the way through. New Orleans badly needs to do just that after managing a lone win through the first three weeks of the sim season.
Though 2-1 overall after falling in its home opener Week 3 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the San Francisco 49ers have been dominant outscoring their opposition by the grand total of 91-68. On the flipside, the 2-2 Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons have each been unimpressive with the former getting outscored 76-64 and the latter an eye-opening 95-70. Though KC’s 99 total points scored ranks out as the fifth most in the league, the 115 points conceded is the absolute worst tally as well. Looks like Andy Reid and Steve Spagnuolo need to find an answer of the defensive side of the ball for the Chiefs to contend in this sim season.
As stated Week 5 kicks off in Seattle where the Seahawks find themselves installed 6-point favorites against the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams with the total set at 40.5. Other Week 5 betting lines include Cardinals/Bengals -1.6, 40.5, Bills/Titans -3, 40, Bears/Raiders +2.5, 43, Bucs/Saints -6.5, 46.5, Vikings/Giants +9.5, 43.5, Jets/Eagles -7, 37.5, Ravens/Steelers +3, 43, Patriots/Redskins +3.5, 37.5, Jaguars/Panthers -3.5, 38.5 and Falcons/Texans -4, 43.5. Betting lines for the Broncos/Chargers, Packers/Cowboys, Colts/Chiefs and Browns/49ers have yet to hit the board but should be readily available shortly.

Futures odds to win the sim season Super Bowl, AFC and NFC title remain on the board. You might want to check the final results of the Cowboys/Saints game to see if you can get a better rate of return on Dallas who currently checks in as the +250 odds-on favorite to win yet another game simulation tournament. They’re followed by the Patriots +650, Ravens +800, Packers +850, Vikings +875, Saints/Texans +1400, 49ers/Eagles +1600 and Seahawks +2000. The 3-1 Bills, Lions, Colts and Bucs checks in at +4500, +20000, +8000 and +10000 respectively. The Patriots +240 are the current frontrunners to win the AFC followed by the Ravens +300, Texans +400, Chiefs +1100, Steelers +1400 Bills +1500 and Chargers +1600. The Cowboys +160 remain the team to beat in the NFC followed by the Packers +525, Vikings +600, Saints +750, Eagles +900, 49ers +925 and Seahawks +1050.
