2024 RSM Classic PGA Betting
The last official PGA Tour event for the 2024 calendar year is The RSM Classic in late November. It is the last event in the 2024 FedExCup Fall Schedule. Most players take at least a couple of months off to rest up for the new season so not many top players will be in the field for this event, but some players have used this tournament as a springboard for good seasons, including Kevin Kisner who won this event in 2015. The RSM Classic is played in Sea Island, Georgia at the Sea Island Golf Club. The tournament was started in 2010 and was known as the McGladrey Classic. Sponsorship of the tournament was changed in 2015 and the event was renamed The RSM Classic. Tour pros Davis Love III and Zach Johnson call Sea Island home and they played in the inaugural event in 2010. Ludvig Aberg is the defending champion.
Catch all of the action at The RSM Classic from Thursday, November 21 through Sunday, November 24.

This event is played at the Sea Island Resort on two courses, the Seaside Course which is a par 70 and the Plantation Course, which is a par 72. Both courses are similar in difficulty, so there is not a big advantage to players one way or another. Traditionally, the first and third rounds are played at Seaside, while the second and fourth rounds are played on the Plantation Course.
The two courses are located on the southern tip of St. Simons Island. The Seaside Course is a links course that was based on St. Andrews, while the Plantation Course features marsh and forest. Seaside was designed by Harry S. Colt and Charles Alison and updated by Tom Fazio in 1999. It is on Golf Digest’s list of “Top 100 Courses in the United States.” The Plantation Course features tidal creeks and lakes but it also has large fairways and inviting greens.

This event began in 2010. The scores were really similar for the first five years and then Kisner went really low in 2015 and shot 22-under par. The winning score came back to normal in 2016 when Hughes shot 17-under par. What Ludvig Aberg did in 2023 may never be equaled, as he blitzed the field, shooting 29-under par to win by four shots.

The only repeat winner of this event is Robert Streb. He won the title in 2014 and in 2020. It had been all Americans winning this event until 2016 when Canadian Mackenzie Hughes took the title, winning in a playoff. Now it has been non-Americans winning the last two years with Adam Svensson winning in 2022 and Ludvig Aberg in 2023.

Aberg shot a score of 29-under par in 2023 and that number will likely never be matched. Gooch tied the previous record for the lowest winning score of 22-under in 2021 and Kisner dominated the field in 2015, as he shot 22-under par to win by six shots.
