2023-24 Italian Serie A Betting
Founded in 1898, Serie A is the top major professional league in Italy. A total of 20 teams compete in Serie A, which has been the case since 2004-05.
In a similar way to the German Bundesliga, Serie A suffers from a parity problem. Three main teams take the lion’s share of wins and championships. There is Juventus, AC Milan, and Iter Milan, and then there is everyone else. Despite the lack of parity, Serie A enjoys a tremendous following, plenty of passion, and good betting action.
Incredibly enough, one of the have-nots was the winner of the 2022-23 Serie A championship. Napoli won its first championship since 1989-90 and just the third in its history. Not since AS Roma in 2000-2001 had a team other than Inter Milan, Juventus, and AC Milan not won the Serie A title.

Juventus dominated Serie A for nearly a decade. The Old Lady won nine straight scudettos from 2012 to 2020 before finally relinquishing its grip on the top tier of Italian soccer. Inter Milan broke an 11-year drought to win Serie A in 2021, and A.C. Milan followed suit last season. Those three clubs have won every Serie A title since 2001 when Rome-based clubs Lazio and Roma won consecutive league titles.
