If you like betting on baseball it doesn’t get much better than this. The game’s elite gather at Dodger Stadium for the midsummer classic on Tuesday with a host of betting options available. It’s tough to distinguish between the leagues with so many great ballplayers on each side. However, going off recent trends the American League has the edge. Winners of eight straight and 20 of the last 23 games that declared a winner, the junior circuit has owned the game, though it has just a slight advantage in the overall series at 46-43. The AL has a powerful lineup to tee off against some terrific arms from the NL in what should be the storyline of the 92nd MLB All-Star Game.
The MLB All-Star Game is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. The game will air live on FOX from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. BookMaker.eu will have betting options for every game of the MLB season.

Odds Analysis
The NL is a slight moneyline favorite on the MLB betting line probably because the guys in the senior circuit have lost eight straight games. With the best players in the game competing for their respective leagues you might expect the series to be closer. It’s been just the opposite, though. The AL is riding an eight-game winning streak with six of those wins coming at the home of a NL club. Yep, unfortunately MLB dropped the system of rotating home venues between the leagues years ago. Even that hasn’t mattered for the AL.
For the most part over the years the games have been relatively low scoring. The old saying ‘good pitching stops good hitting’ is something to consider. The total hit the board at eight and only twice in the last 13 All-Star games have the clubs gone over that number. Heck they couldn’t do it last year in hitter-friendly Coors Field, but those two times did take place at NL parks. The teams combined for 14 runs at Nationals Park in 2018 and scored nine runs at Great America Park in the 2015 edition.

The strength of the AL appears to be the bats, even with Mike Trout and Jose Altuve not playing. The team is loaded with players from the AL East, the best division in baseball at the halfway point. Every club is at or above .500 led by the Yankees owning the best record winning nearly 70 percent of their games. So it only makes sense that the best team in the league is well represented. The biggest stick in the arsenal belongs to Aaron Judge, who leads MLB with 33 homers. He’s joined in the starting outfield by teammate Giancarlo Stanton, who’s fifth with 24 homers.
A pair of East performers lock down the corners with Rafael Devers at third and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. at first. As usual we’ve seen a lot of changes to rosters over the last few days with players opting out due to injury or personal reasons. That gives guys who deserved a shot and weren’t initially chosen a chance to play. And those players will have a say in the outcome. One impactful player could be MLB batting leader Luis Arraez. Veteran hurlers Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander are not available leaving the staff in the hands of younger players. Shane McClanahan, who leads MLB with a 1.71 ERA, is likely to start.
National League
Starters haven’t been named as of yet, but my money’s on Clayton Kershaw getting the nod since the game is in his home park. And he’s certainly deserving going 7-2 with a 2.13 ERA over 12 starts. He’s been especially sharp this month tossing seven perfect innings in his last start exiting after eight frames with one hit allowed. He’s given up just one run and 10 hits with 24 strikeouts over 22.2 innings in his last three starts. Fireballers Sandy Alcantara and Corbin Burnes will also get a shot.
Pitching is the obvious strength of the NL, but there are some talented sticks in the lineup. Current Dodgers Trea Turner and Mookie Betts along with former Dodger Joc Pederson know the host yard well. Paul Goldschmidt and Manny Machado have had big games at Dodger Stadium over their careers. The senior circuit has some bombers as well with home run leader Kyle Schwarber and Austin Riley. The pair has combined for 56 homers on the year and rank second and third respectively in the NL.
AL vs. NL MLB Odds Pick
A number of top pitchers on both sides are unavailable leaving me to back the OVER in a game with several big sticks. We tend to see a dip in talent from starters to reserves, however there doesn’t appear to be as big a gap this season. And although the game is a glorified exhibition, the NL is tired of losing.
